There's no doubt about that. They will also continue to make room for Coppage.  The advantage UW-W has on the line of scrimmage is usually quite decisive.  NCC has some great athletes on defense, but I've not seen a defensive line hold up for 4 quarters against UW-W in five years. And that INCLUDES Mt. Union.  Throw in the best running back in the country and that's a challenge for ANY defense!  ;D
Relax.
Your eyelids are getting heavy.
You are feeling very sleepy now.
Relax.
Now, listen to what I have to say and know it as the truth.

North Central cannot run the ball.
North Central cannot pass the ball.
North Central's offensive line will not be able to make any running lanes against the stout Whitewater defensive front.
North Central's defense is weak.
North Central's defensive line will not get any pressure on Blanchard.
North Central does not have a DPOY candidate waiting to provide a friendly greeting to Mr. Coppage.
North Central will not be able to stop the mighty Whitewater passing game.
North Central has only played against 0-10 teams this year.

Keep telling yourself, "The CCIW is weak.  North Central is not a good team."

Go to your happy place.

There.  Now, don't you feel better.
I do feel better, Thank You and I'm a Cardinal fan! First Ditka and then the great Staggini lulling us all to sleep. All that's left is for everyone who's reading or writing posts to do is gather in front of Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in a big circle, holding hands and sing Kumbaya this Saturday.

The clincher on Reade---why he gets the tip of the hat over the others.........

drumroll please.........

He was able to accomplish all this while raising 11 children!

Now will Augie return to its offensive roots---you can still run the offense from shotgun if you like--ask Greg King---bring back the Double Dive/Inside Belly!

I wonder if he was the inspiration for the 2003 version of Cheaper By The Dozen. Steve Martin's character in the flick, Tom Baker, was a football coach. Maybe not, they had 12 children!!  ;)

First time poster--please be gentle with me.

I had the (mis)fortune of facing Coach Reade's teams four times in my playing days at NCC (and contributed to the unbeaten streak!).  Two things we always knew going in.  One, they rarely, if ever, made a mistake (a sign of great coaching).  By the same token, they jumped all  over your mistakes.

And, second, when you played them you better put on every pad that you owned.

It is difficult to compare the greatness of coaches and players from different eras, but Coach Reade will always be in the conversation.

1 is too many by my count. :)

Obviously not a math major, then!

Who would have guessed that a trip to the Quarters would be all it would take to get us Cardinal fans some cavalry on the board!
You win! You always do!

With so many "young" alums out there, I thought Mugsy would be happy to have another old timer on board.

Leipold:

Has never coached a high school team

College record 4 seasons
53-3  94.6% wining percentage
4 WIAC conference championships
4 Playoff appearances
2 National championship runners up
2 National championships
Nations longest winning streak in all divisions

Not as long of tenure as Coach Thorne but not a bad start none the less  ;)

pretty sick.
Pretty sick, indeed. And, please don't take this as a knock at all on Leipold, but he inherited an already GREAT program. Thorne took over a 3-7 team and made them what they are in a hurry.

No knock taken and your point is spot on.  To his credit he has maintained it at the highest level possible.

If you played against The Coach Reade, you're not that old.
