413, the NCC tailgaters also have to deal with the elements. It will be a true test to see who the best of the best are!  :D

A new wrinkle has developed for the game and it's called Mother Nature. The weather report on Sunday/Monday was partly sunny, high of 38. The weather as of this morning is now calling for 2 - 4 inches of snow and colder temps. This would favor a running team over a passing team IMO. Not that they need it but this favors UWW even more.

Exerpt from Article from Daily Herald (thanks for heads up Dub Boiler):

"They've been in the playoffs, they've got an experienced staff," Leipold said. "It's not like when you kick off you're not in a college football game."

Leipold doesn't seem to care about all the other stuff. He just sees a "well-coached football team that is executing at a high level" with "probably the quickest defense that we've seen all year. They're fast and physical."

Stagg or Bust

Yes, I have been trolling the boards for some time as others I know, who do not post.  Since I live in Florida I seldom attend games (although I did jump on a plane from Miami to be at the first playoff game in 2005 -- I was a patheic sad sight sitting O'Hare  3 hours after the game in my Cardinal jacket waiting for the return flight).

However, I rarely if ever miss a game on WONC and now love TV-17.  I used to actually look forward to the games AT Wheaton because WETN does such a great job with the production.

Fair weather?  Difficult to classify those of us who survived NCC football seasons in the 80s and 90s as players and fans as "fair weather."

So to the North Park guys out there-- keep the faith.  We lost to you my sohomore year.  I used to tell people that I just want one CCIW championship in my lifetime.  Who knows where your program will be 25 years from now.

And to the comment that if I played against Coach Reade--I'm not that old.  Yes--

1982 seems like it was yesterday!

I know, just yanking your chain but having more than a canvas roof overhead sure does sound a lot better to me.  ;)

17, ya, that is the extent of, "trash talking," from me.  I am not a wimpy tailgater but I do admit to being a wimpy trash talker as my karma number attests to.   ;) :D ;D

Not worried about the game as much, (our boys have a lot of experience playing in the snow,) as the attendance numbers.  They are calling for 6-8 inches Friday night into early Saturday morning in a large area of Southern Wisconsin!  >:(  That will make for some treacherous travel to the game for my Cheeseheads.   :(

I prefer a brick and mortar roof...which is why I will be spending my pregame with some beverages at the Lantern a block away.  ;D

Yes, I realize that would put me on the "alternates" plaque, referenced above. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?

That's why I come up here! Goulet.

Mugsy - I will consider your statement as I sip on an adult beverage in a quality establishment. I will then chuckle. Then go to the game.

If you want NCC players feeding off your morphogenic field that will be filled with soft thoughts, then a warm bar is definately the place for you  ;)

ncc58

If NCC is in the game, they have to be balanced. They won't run for ~300 yards, as they've done the next two weeks. But if they fall behind and must pass, UWW will blitz frequently.

Quote from: emma17 on December 02, 2010, 10:34:07 AM
I for one will be surprised if NCC doesn't end up with at least as many passes as runs.

ncc58

NCC still runs the spread offense - you can emphasize the run as well as the pass from a spread offense. They rarely huddle, but UWW should be experienced now that they've seen that from Franklin and Trine.

I asked on one of the boards, maybe it was the OAC which makes no sense in hindsight, a few days ago about the fact that the 07 Cards brought a primarily spread offense to the Perk but got no answer.  Where did that go?  Now they appear to be primarily a running team.  Is that just because they haven't needed to pass to move on this year or has there been a conscious change in offensive strategy made since 07?

cardfan86

To go off of what Gator said, the O-line will huddle while subs are put in, packages, etc. while the rest of the offense is getting set. Think Oregon/Northwestern style of spread option team.
