The possibles are:
Kane Thompson, onlybplayed 2 games in 09
Fiedorowicz, only played 3 yrs
Wild, only played 3 yrs
Garza, 3 yrs at NCC, no clue what he did at COD or other prior to NCC

These are all impact players to varying degrees so any of them who return makes NCC that much stronger.
From what I hear, it would not be out of the question to see three of the four on your list return to B-W for another season of Cardinal football in the fall (as of this moment).  There is clearly a lot of time between now and August though, so time will tell.

Here is a quick preview of what to expect for 2011 in the CCIW and a way too early predicted order of finish

Prediction for 2011:

NCC
Wheaton
Elmhurst
IWU
Augie
Carthage
Millikin
NPU

North Central:
Strengths: They return all of their offensive skill positions led by Llavac and Tassio but not the 2 TE's. 6 of the top 12 defensive players return including McLeod, Hayes and Clendenning. Depth:Lots of players w game experience due to aggressive rotations. Many freshman got playing time.
Questions: Who will replace Wenger and Garza who accounted for about 30% of the defensive stats. They must replace their 2 best OL and they lose both TE's. QB controversy?

Wheaton:
Strengths: Skill guys area all back on offense (QB, top 2 RBs, 2 of 3 top WR). Core of defense is back (5 of top 7 def front) both stud safeties return.  East, Jacobson, McMullen, J Langs all return. Dykstra is going to be the next top DLineman in the conference.
Questions: returning only 2 of 5 OL and lose 3 top corners including T. Langs. Markley needs to step up.

Elmhurst:
Strengths: entire offense is back (all 5 OL, 5 of 6 top receivers, QB, RB, TE). All 4 DL are back. Scottie Williams and Rod Payton are top players at their position
Questions: lose 3 of top 5 Dbs and 2 of top 3 LBs including Wright. Furco needs to be much more efficient.

IWU:
Strengths: Return 3 of top 4 LBs and entire secondary. Defense should be very good. If Jenkins comes back on DL they will be dominant as they will have 3 returning DL. WR's all back.
Questions:No QB's or RB's with experience. Need to replace 3 OL starters. Def Coordinator Murray is a big loss as well.

Augie:
Strengths: David Lee is likely the best QB in the conference. Weber, S Holl, 3 of top 4 DB's return. McCullough is a great WR.
Questions:Only return 2 of 5 OL and lose J Mago, C Pershnick and Bohland on a good defensive front. New HC creates who is a defensive guys creates questions as Barnes ran the spread offense.

Carthage:
Strengths: return 4/5 OL, 4/5 top WR and 11 of 14 top Defensive players. Hipchen and TJ Jordan are studs.
Questions:No real playmakers stand out. No experience QB or RB and new Def coordinator.

Millikin:
Strengths: Return 14 of top 16 defensive players and 4/5 from the OLine.
Questions: They are a mess at QB and lose top RB Dion Wilson.

NPU:
Strengths: 4/5 OL, both QBs, 7 of top 12 defensive players are eligible to return
Questions: Will those experienced players return? Lose Nick Pantaleo and return only 2 of top 5 dbs.

Unfortunately we return only 2/5 on what i thought was a very good the o-line and lose 2 more seniors that saw playing time.

Ugh,  this loss to UWW won't sit well for a while.   When you look at the turnovers that ultimately led to NCC losing this game, you have to give credit where it is due.  UWW's forced fumbled was a good play by them.  They pass that was tipped at the line of scrimmage and then picked off by the same guy was a good play by them.  The tipped pass to our TE was well defended...its just really frustrating to have a team of NCC's caliber with the talent to get to the title game (and represent the CCIW) come up short.

I also appreciate your giving credit where credit is due and I want to return the favor.  In the world of D-3, Saturday was a big stage and the Cards proved that they belonged, for sure.  My biggest complaint was actually not as much with the #1 and #2 in the North Region as it was with the ranking of the North Region #4 with both of us in it!!!! ??? ::) With the competitiveness of that game, it sure makes the committee's choice to send either of us on the road next weekend look even more silly, IMHO.

Agreed.  You have a good GREAT team up there in Whitewater.  Good luck against Wesley on Saturday.
Fixed it for ya. ;)  You know how I know we are a great team?  Because we found a way to beat a great team last Saturday!    Winning breeds winning.  No one knows that better than us so the future will continue to look bright for the Cards and their fans.  It looks, (from the outside anyway,) like some important things are in place, a great coaching staff, impressive facilities and now a history of success at the top level.   Best of luck next season.
"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

"Three things you don't want to be in football, slow, small and friendly!"  John Madden

"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in
life." Paul Dietzel / LSU

Have to agree with this. From the outside looking in, it sure seems NCC is on the cusp of being consistently among the national elite.

Their biggest roadblock/hurdle might simply be the fact that they are in the North region. Wesley (and to a degree UMHB) have been able to reach the point of being 'penciled in' to the semis each year in large part because they were in a region not dominated by the big two. This gives/gave them a little breathing room to develop. We'll see how far that has come in a few short days. NCC, if the trend continues, will have to do that growing within the stifling confines of Mount and at times UWW. But that's been a hurdle the North and West have both been facing for some time now.

Just a quick rundown of the Seniors on NCC's squad (according to the NCC website):

Nick Hicks - WR/RB
Derek Sulo - DB
Valente Garza - DE
Joe Schneiderbauer - LB
Steve Hlavac - WR
Scott Hogan - DB
Shaun Wild - K/P
Matt Wenger - LB
Jeff Grunwald - TE
Drew Borczak - DT
Jeremy Schaub - OL
Kyle Antos - OL
Tom McGinnis - WR
Kyle Fiedorowicz - TE

Sorry about Hlavac. I had it down wrong but should have remembered his freshman year when he beat Franklin on the last play!

As far as coming back I know these guys definitely played 4 yrs of football:

Hicks, schneiderbauer, sulo, hogan, wenger, grunwald, schaub, antos, borczak, McGinnis

The possibles are:
Kane Thompson, onlybplayed 2 games in 09
Fiedorowicz, only played 3 yrs
Wild, only played 3 yrs
Garza, 3 yrs at NCC, no clue what he did at COD or other prior to NCC

I'm sure Wheaton people would love to see Fiedorowicz back again!   ;) ;D

Fiedorowicz IS interested in returning in 2011.

Well lets hope he does!

USee-  Hicks tore his ACL his freshman year and took a Med-Red.  It's entirely possible that he comes back.

Hicks and Garza I believe will both be back in 2011

I think it's a good sign of the strength of the NCC program that Wenger, Hogan, and Sulo opted to return as "5th year seniors" (or in Hogan's case, as a grad student) in 2010, and several other guys apparently want to do the same in 2011.  I can't remember that happening in the past. :)

Before this board goes kind of quiet off season I want to take the opportunity to once again thank all the posters on this board for having our backs during the seeding debate and troughout the playoffs. Most of you supported us better than most of our own for gosh sakes. Pretty cool! Thanks and looking forward to another GREAT year in the CCIW next season!

VERY good point, cardinaldad!  Thanks Usee, Mugsy, Mr. Ypsi, SOT, and any others I may have missed.  Great to see all of the support from fellow CCIW folks.
