Congrats to all of these guys, especially Tyler Funk. It's difficult for anyone to come back and compete after being out of school for a while so it's great to see that he's having this level of success.

Unless they plan on bringing Coach Reade back as the offensive coordinator, my guess would be a big NO.   :D

So what, exactly, is so dramatic about any difference?

I think NCC/UMU would be a great battle and not dissimilar to the UWW/NCC game. While I don't think NCC would win "without a doubt" I also don't think the UMU/NCC difference is anywhere near "dramatic"

Both games had their "garbage" time. In the Mount game it was from about the middle of the third quarter on. Dean Paul and Kehres are close friends and coach-player, so could the score have been much worse, easily. Did Mount have two hundred yard rushers in many games this year? Why? Killing the clock? It became a snooze after Mount opened up the scoring. Having watched the Mount game I'll stick with dramatic. It was the day this young Mount team arrived. I would have MUCH preferred the NCAA leave everybody in their own regions and then there might not be this open question about the strength of North Central. Sorry but most of the year I thought NCC had a case to be number 1. As much as the NCAA tried to fix things, they ended up screwing it all up

I agree that everybody should stay in their own regions but it's the NCAA in charge-they can't get much of anything done right.

Is it too early to discuss next fall's out-of-conference schedules for the CCIW schools?

Wheaton's 2011 non-conference schedule is the same as this years, only location of games have swapped.

9/10 Albion
9/17 @ UW-Platteville
9/24 Olivet

2012 & 2013 non-conference foes have not yet been posted.

An offense playing, "mistake free," football is pretty hard to do against us.  Our defense isn't too shabby either.   ;)
No doubt and it was proven again against Wesley.  Without question UWW's complete defense was the best NCC faced all year.  Wheaton's rush defense was good and ONU had a good pass defense, but neither squad had the total talent level that UWW possessed.  Additionally, UWW's size and quickness at the line of scrimmage (on both sides of the ball) is something that most teams do not possess.  I will be eager to watch the "hogs" do battle on Saturday.

Never too early, especially for any program who has an open date and needs Coach L's number...... ;) ;D

Anyone know what NCC's 2011 schedule looks like? It's not posted on the interwebs yet. If you guaranty me the CCIW AQ, I would have no problem scheduling UWW next year!

Anyone willing to concede?

Ha!  Nice try.

You obviously won't find a single non-NCC, CCIW poster who would take this concession, though I'm sure the UWW faithful would agree to this arrangement.

That said there is probable unanimous consent that NCC is the favorite for the CCIW crown in 2011.  Here's hoping that does not become reality, but another DuPage county team only 7 miles to the north is the victor instead. :P

"The drive for another five" begins next year :D The non-conference schedule will probably be similar, but it would be nice if they changed it up a little.

No one in the CCIW is scheduling UWW anytime soon. The system doesn not incent the schools in a tough conference like the CCIW. Prefer to play them in December than in September.

In the "Open Dates" section on this site, for September 10, 2011, teams listed include:

UWW, UWSP, Franklin, and NCC.

NCC and UWW also have an open date listed in September 24.

There was talk back after the UWW/Franklin game in week one of the playoffs that UWW and Franklin agreed to a home & home, with Whitewater at Franklin next year. I thought it was a done deal - possibly, the "Open Dates" site hasn't been updated.  ;)

Considering that NCC led entering the fourth quarter, UWW might demand a similar concession from the WIAC! ;D

Newcard-You might want to compare box scores between the Mount Union-Ohio Northern game and the North Central - Ohio Northern games. Mount Union totally dominated Ohio Northern, something like 180 total yards.

I realize it's the only comparison until this weekend, but it's a dramatic one.

Leaves plenty of doubt in my mind

and, taken in the context of that game(I'm sure wisc had a "statement" game as well)? a very young umu team against
nothern? given the actual results??? all the time consuming LONG drives???? game was not as close as it seems I think ONU still had "hope" on their side in umu game, in d3 playoffs? ONU had no such delusions.... and boxscores really are not(in most cases) comparable--- just as one cannot compare umu's game against oshkosh as a valid prediction for THIS week....
