... and Aurora got six of those nine points against NPU deep into the fourth quarter, when the Vikings were up by a score of 27-3 and Scott Pethtel had already started sending in his subs.

IWU has had three huge wins over the last 4 years - twice against Wheaton and once against NCC, ruining seasons for those schools. I would expect the IWU-Wheaton game to be very interesting whatever the margin is.

I dislike comparing stats and rankings 4 weeks and 3 games (for most teams) into the season. A lot depends on your quality of opponents. Kudos to Wheaton (UWP) and NCC (Redlands) for playing a quality opponent in the non-conference part of the schedule.

It is great to get conference play started.  I'm glad to see lots of posters excited about a big game out of the gate.

I see IWU/Wheaton to be a close game particularly in Bloomington---which I believe is a difficult place to play.  Perhaps Always can give us IWU's home record over the last three years (I select three years since it reflects the guys who will be on the field, so I do think that it has some relevance).

I do know that in NC's current 20-1 three year run in the CCIW, the loss was in Bloomington, so I don't know if that is definitive proof of a difficult road trip, but I sense that it is.

LETS ROLL

Guys, believe me. I'm not trying to take ANYTHING away from IWU. There's no doubt that this will be a very hard fought game by both sides and facts are facts, Wheaton has NOT played well recently in Bloomington. I just believe that what I've seen thus far out of the thunder is something special. I've been to all 3 games as well as the Wabash Scrimmage and have been very impressed. I think (and hope) that the leadership by this strong senior class will bring enough poise and focus to get the job done.

Bottom Line: I CAN'T WAIT FOR SATURDAY

LETS ROLL

Good work Always.

Let's see-----13-3 at home for the IWU senior class, and 10-1 the past two years.  I would guess that we can conclude that it is a tough place to play.

Great article. NC play-offs hopes start tomorrow. Either they get the "W's" or they get ready for next season. I think they are ready for the challenge. (I hesitate to NOT use a smiley guy face, okay just one ;

Stink!  I was counting on being able to see a live feed.

With the $ and endowment IWU has, surely that can get this hooked up, right?  Oh yeah... it's hard to get modern technology out to the corn fields.  What are they using in Bloomington, 14.4K modems?   :P

Actually, every IWU home football game will have a live video broadcast this year...
