So, if I'm reading this properly, you're guaranteeing a 20+ pt win by NCC, right Mugs?

Read me like a book.  Perfect interpretation.  :P

I don't remember ever giving karma while during Bell week, but this exchange was priceless.  +k for both.

What aspect of the Cardinals season has lead you to believe they would be down big early?

Nothing.  I just wondered how they would react if it did happen.   Probably won't, but I would like to see how they react if it does.  Just conjecture my friend, just conjecture!  :)

Mr. Ypsi

Mugsy, 2009 was the Millikin upset of IWU.  That year we beat both NCC and Wheaton, went 10-2, finishing with a loss at UWW, and lost (on our homecoming, no less) to Millikin, in a game where we dominated in every way except where it most mattered. :P

thanks for the clarification... while at work it is difficult to take time to be exact with the details, like the specific year the upset occurred.  I knew someone would point out the exact year if I was incorrect.   ::)

I'm fine with that. And I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that NC wins this game hands down, no matter is being said on other boards. Not only is this the CCIW, it is the third week-end in a row that NC has their backs against the wall (their own fault). I'm just saying there has not been one game this year that they have had a major meltdown early. I would be very surprised to see that happen this week. At Redlands, they were not down early, they were up 19-7 at half and had a letdown in the 2nd half. I did say that I thought the game could be a back and forth battle. Anyway, I need to go cool down also.  :)

Easier said than done when still couple of days away from the big game, that we have absolute zippo impact on and really wish we did.

I'm jacked up enough to suit up now, though that would quickly subside when my 40+ year old body shocked me back to reality (I'd likely snap a hamstring stretching or thinking of stretching).   :o

Big game coming up. Being from Lombard, I couldn't help but reading the past few pages of this thread to see what everyone is saying about the game. I wish I can be in Naperville for this one.

I have to ask....SoDup?

HA HA So True! Maybe they should have an alumni bell game on Friday (flag not tackle, there are not enough ambulances in DuPage County for that fiasco). I would pay to see that one. Ah, the wonders of a shot of caffeine, puts a smile on your face :) :D ;D

The nickname "SoDup" comes from NCC having the CCIW championship "Sewed Up". The Breakfast of Champions school just doesn't know how to spell (though they may deny this and say SoDup is actually a reference to NCC being farther South in DuPage County than Breakfast of Champions).
You win! You always do!

It has a sort of style than the more accurate "SoDuP" lacks. ;)

I am actually offended by Sager's version of the nickname.

As much as the Master Crooner is on his game as far as jokes go today, the tradition on Bell week is fans on either side do not use the actual name of the opposing school.  It sometimes takes a little creativity.  Since Naperville is south of Wheaton in DuPage County, the nickname that has caught on this year is SoDup.

Dang it.  Misread Goulet's post with the information that Warhawk was looking for right in it.  One might think I learned my reading comprehension at SoDup.
