Definitely a rivalry game -- always a lot of intensity when the Big Blue and Titans square off in any sport.  Should be a good one.

A great app for your phone is DIII Scorecast. You can follow your fav team as well as be one touch away from any audio broadcast for every game. It is great!

Wow, this is great.  I had not heard of this and just downloaded the app -- very cool.  I wonder who the heck is behind developing/managing this app?

ATTENTION ELMHURST & NORTH CENTRAL FANS:

The D3Football Scoreboard/Schedule shows EC @ NCC at 2:00.

Hopefully, most everyone is thinking game time is 6:00 which is the correct time rather than 2.

Bye week before conference play has definitely benefited Wheaton.  Most of their key injured have had a chance to heal.

Should be back in action:
CCIW OPOY QB - Garrett Meador [finger on throwing hand]
1st Team All-CCIW OL - Nolan Randall [leg]
1st Team All-CCIW RB (from 2009) - Charlie Velling [served 3 game suspension]
Top WR Mark Hiben - [Concussion]

Why has Velling not played since 2009?
What was he suspended for?

I don't recall the reasons why he left football for a couple of seasons.  At this point I'm not sure it matters to say why he was suspended, even if I knew.  I believe the suspension is related to why he left the program and that was a couple of years ago.

Mercy!  UWW only has 21 yards offense in the first half against U-W Platteville.

However Platteville is down to their 3rd string QB.

WC big over Augie, in the 4th.
Carthage beats NPU easily.

Big games tonight under the lights.

Carthage 31
NPU 6

It was a nightmare of a third quarter for the Vikings. Down only 7-0 at the half, NPU gave up almost 300 yards of offense and three TDs to Carthage in the third quarter, and a tight game turned into a rout. Credit Carthage head coach Tim Rucks and his staff for obviously making great halftime adjustments, but a lot of this is on the NPU defense. Pete Djurickovic scored two TD passes on the same call -- a very basic flanker screen to the left -- that were good for 99 and 71 yards. On both plays he simply ran through a plethora of arm tackles. It was hard to watch, and even harder to have to describe over the air.

Tyler Krebs was the lone bright spot on the day, with 132 yards rushing and a TD. But there wasn't much beyond him. NPU looked as though it was in completely out of its depth in the second half against one of the two teams that people thought the Vikes had a chance of beating in CCIW play this year.

Wheaton 49
Augustana 7

Jordan Roberts 17-19 for 269 yds in about 1 and 1/2 quarters with 2 passing and 1 rushing TDs.  Mark Hibben 10 catches for 204 yds and a TD.  Wheaton 569 yds of offense.  Augie's Eric Chandler rushed 13 times for 110 yds.

Do you remember when the waterboy showed up at half time and we came back to win the bourbon bowl?
