Do you remember when the waterboy showed up at half time and we came back to win the bourbon bowl?
Classic!  Doesn't look like the Blue Jays have Bobby Boucher on their sidelines.

Hmm... guess 79jaybird is not a cranky, negative, skeptic, older man like the young Blue Crayon nation claims he is.  Seems to me he is a man seasoned with wisdom to recognize the flashes of false promise and have a sense of realistic hope.  :P

Until they win the big ones, they are not there yet.  41-10 with 13 minutes remaining ... Ouch!

All tied up in Bloomington at 27 with under a minute remaining. Millikin on their on 41 with 2nd and 20.  IWU tying TD came on a 98 yard drive.  Looking at game statistics implies the game is very evenly matched.  Both team will just over 400 yards offense, both very balance with over 200 yards rushing and passing.

That is not going to happen tonight. starters pulled in the 3rd quarter for NC. It did start out exciting though and Scottie got some decent runs, but the NC defense only gave up 3 pts. tonight. Pretty nice game all around.

Bluejay4ever, are you out there? Perhaps after a several years of this, you too will get frustrated and stop drinking the "blue colored cool-aid".  ;)

Tip of the cap to the Cards - certainly the better birds tonight.

A few takeaways from the evening:

NCC looked incredibly athletic on defense.  Strength of these 'Jays is the O-Line and the ground game but the Cards were flying around tonight, bottled up Scottie and kept Furco uncomfortable in the pocket.

Third down was a killer for the 'Jays.  NCC D turned away EC multiple times in third and short situations (and 4th and short), and on the other side of the ball, the Cards were able to pick up big chunks of yardage on 3rd and long to keep the sticks moving.

Big plays were back-breakers.  Pretty simple here, NCC makes you earn each and every yard down the field and rarely misses an assignment or a tackle or busts a coverage.  On the other side, the Cards clicked off a ton of big gainers, flipping field position often and creating explosive plays.

Certainly a disappointing effort tonight for EC, but there are 6 more on the schedule and 9 - 1 is the new goal.  All the credit in the world goes out to the Cards tonight - Thorne had his birds ready tonight and they played really really well.
It's a Great Day to be a Jay!

So is continuing to try to belittle JB, who is well respected on this board.   Truth hurts.  You're still not there.  Like it or not!

Hey, I get it. Elmhurst pays you to be a cheerleader but at least call a spade a spade.

From D3Football.com Daily Dose

Most likely Top 25 team to get upset.............Or, NOT!

Keith's take: No. 11 North Central. I might as well hop all the way on the Elmhurst bandwagon. With the nation's No. 2 rusher (Scottie Williams, 193 yards per game), No. 2 turnover margin (plus nine) and No. 3 scoring defense (Loras and Chicago were shut out, Trine scored 13), there's a lot to like. But the Cardinals are at home, and have played a power schedule in the first few weeks. They'll be ready for Elmhurst. The question is whether the Bluejays redefine the CCIW narrative, or stick to the script.

The stats tell the story----NCC dominated, out gaining EC 554 to 198.
EC's Scottie Williams, the nation's #2 rusher who came in averaging 193 yards per game and 7.1 yards per carry, was held to a net 67 yards on 20 carries for a 3.4 average.
