I really think it would be a shame if Wheaton doesn't get in.  It doesn't sound promising from what I've read, but here's hoping the NCAA puts a team in that is strong enough to do well in the playoffs.

If Wheaton doesn't get in, and I agree it looks bleak, they have no one to blame but themselves and their is plenty to go around. Their decision to water down their schedule gives then a .517 SOS when a .560 or better makes then a much stronger candidate. Their decision to not play for the pt spread against NCC is another reason they may well be on the outside looking in. And any better result on 1 of 4 select plays during the Albion, Elmhurst and NCC game would have changed their plight.  Those plays were a combination o mental, execution or coaching errors.

It's disappointing for Thunder fans and players but this one is not on the NCAA committee process.

^  honest and truthful analysis on one's own team.   Something that is severely lacking from most fans.   +k

Here's to hoping that Christmas comes early for Wheaton
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Another interesting and action filled year of CCIW football. Congrats to the Tri-Champs! Good luck to those who are selected to move on and represent the conference in the playoffs. Congrats to the Seniors of all the CCIW schools. Thank you for your time and dedication to your respective football programs. It has been a pleasure to watch you all in action over the years. Best of luck to you all in your future endeavors.

Another ugly season of NPU football is over. But I still want to thank and congratulate the 20 NPU seniors for all the hard work and effort that they put in. I assign no blame to them. On the contrary, they are to be admired for sticking it out through thin and thinner. There's just not enough there in terms of team speed for the Vikings to compete in this league. But at least the program is retaining its players ... and the quality of young men in terms of academics and deportment that Scott Pethtel and his coaches have been bringing in continues to impress me.

I don't know any of the NPU seniors, but they are certainly due a good measure of admiration. Be it football, basketball, or any other sport, I always admire the player(s) who sticks with a program for all 4 years. Especially, those that hardly get to play at all during the course of their entire careers and rarely, if ever, get a moment in the spotlight.

late to the boards...out celebrating - and the blue KOOL AID is delicious!!!!  To all the TRUE BLUE Elmhurst faithful out there - i am with you!  We did it!  To all the negative neigh-sayers, the boo-hooers, the doubters (you know who you are) - all i have to say is...

Was L-Ghost wearing an EC Cheerleading Skirt yesterday?  :P

Call them Lucky, call them Cardiac Jays, call them (X) but you can call them Co-Champs for the first time since 1980.  Great day for the college.  I was worried in that second half when IWU poured it on.

Let's hope Elmhurst and Wheaton can get in.  Would love to see all (3) get in.

Elmhurst's playoff selection later today will mark the 7th team out of 8 in the league to have appeared in the playoffs since Since 2000. And if they manage to secure a home game and win they will be the 7th team to appear in the 2nd round during that time as well. It's a pretty unique accomplishment. I am not sure how many conferences can say they have sent most of their league to the post season over a little more than a decade.

No Wheaton that sucks!!   A very very strong team is not making it although its their own fault.
