I listened to the archived webcast interview between the NPU SID and new football coach.  It seems that Mike Conway has realistic expectations and brings a lot of enthusiasm.  It sounds like the offense will be shotgun/hurry-up offense.

They had a scrimmage last weekend against Olivet Nazarene and it sounds like it went pretty well.   I think they played a half and didn't give up any points.

I don't think his post was one sided at all as I think he pointed out many challenges that EC has to overcome. I believe this league is so well balanced that besides creating opportunities how those 3 or 4 breaks during a game go as well as injuries will really tell the story at the end of the year on who is on top. Each team will have to overcome adversity and how they do that will determine the conference co-champs once again.....

Jaybird...although I like the traditional helmets and uniforms ours were terrible. The numbers were so small on our helmets we looked like a pop warner team. Not too mention they had a thick texture which made them pop off. Being a DT, after every game they needed to be replaced. I could not agree more that today's generation cares more about the look on the field then ever. Thank the boo yahhh network for that.

Order of prediction of finish based upon the recent history..

1.   EC 8-2, 5-2
1.   Wheaton 8-2, 5-2
1.   IWU 8-2, 5-2
1.   Augie 7-3, 5-2
1.  North Central 7-3, 5-2
6.  Carthage 6-4 3-4
6.    Millikin 6-4 3-4
8.    NP 2-8, 0-7

Has a less amicable, harmonious, tranquil, and peaceful atmosphere begun to creep over the Wheaton campus?  ???
The Crusaders, er Thunder, previewing their new Nike Pro COMBAT uniforms.  :o

Whats next? A desire to roast their opponents rather than to pray with them after games?  :-\   :)

You may want to run the math on your predictions. I think there are 28 possible wins and 28 possible losses in the CCIW schedule. Someone has to lose and someone has to win each game.  :o

Ya, but did they score any themselves. or did it turn into a soccer game?  ;)

I know NP scored at least 3 touchdowns.  2 by Dakota Conway and a 40 yard screen pass scored by freshman running back Magwood.  Not sure much beyond that.

I made my annual purchase of D3football.com's Kickoff publication.  It's extremely well done as always...kudos to the team that created it.

I too purchase Kickoff annually, though to be honest I don't read many articles about non-CCIW teams.  I view the purchase as my way of supporting d3football.com, sort of like subscribing to my local PBS station.

Interesting:

In addition to the main story line of the OSU connection, I was surprised to learn that UMHB runs off-campus camps.  Do CCIW schools do that?

Here's a great story about 4 D-III football players and their character;

That's what the majority of people would do. We are just so saturated with bad news stories, that we forget most people are honest, upstanding citizens.

A big big loss for Wheaton.  Hiben was superb last year.

Looking forward to the opening of the season -- some better indicators of how things will play out for the CCIW race.

I see Hiben is no longer on the Wheaton roster:

Not good.

Don't put your head in the oven yet Wheaties ;D. Wheaton will survive and still be in contention for the CCIW championsip.
