So what games exactly did you feel good about? And that's NCC +14 right? If I could get away with it I would mortgage my house to take NCC and 2 TDS. Any takers?

I'm with you...if anything, I feel that BU is the underdog given the loss of their QB....however, that is why they play the games...anything can happen!

He wasn't just an average QB, but rather, the MIAC MVP this season, so he is a huge loss...very solid player, and played with a ton of poise, regardless of how the game was going.

That being said, they are very fortunate to have a senior QB as the backup, and a group of solid senior receivers.

Excited to see how things turn out!  Wondering what the field will be like given that we are supposed to snow here this week, and then enter a deep freeze thursday - saturday (current fcst. high of 4 degrees on saturday!)  I wouldn't be shocked if the venue changes, in order to avoid playing on a torn up and frozen grass field.

Keep your head up.  North Central on the road against a backup senior QB and a solid set of senior WRs...we've seen that one before.   :)

That was a great game to watch!

If any of you are planning on making the trek to Arden Hills, Minnesota on Saturday for the game, take note of the parking situation.  With two major events on the wooded, suburban campus at the same time, parking is a real issue.  Bethel is urging fans to take the park-and-ride they've set up for Saturday's game:

http://athletics.bethel.edu/news/2013/12/2/FB_1202130106.aspx

Spread the word!  Two outstanding events will be held at Bethel on Saturday, which means it will be congested!!!

Is it a done deal?  Is the BU QB out for certain?

It would be a shame----not that the back up can't do the job, as already discussed we have been bitten by back ups in the playoffs.  But, going back to an earlier discussion, it is great to see the top QBs square off against each other in a winner take all game, and I try not to lose sight of the fact that these are D3 kids playing for the love of the game.

Your little kids from Illinois may not fare so well now that they have to play the Men from Minnesota.

I doubt it will be a certainty until the 2-deeps rosters are available, but a separated throwing shoulder doesn't bode well.

It's a shame, because as you said, it would've been fun to see both teams with their big guns healthy.

Epic game. NCC went into that game as a double digit favorite for sure. No one outside of Crawfordsville gave Bash a chance. A 21-0 NCC lead in the first half and a 28-7 lead with 6min left in the 3rd made all the Cardinal fans fat and happy. And then it happened....Tyler Burke was knocked upside the head one too many times and became "unconscious" in the sense he could do no wrong. The last drive and 2 pt conversion for the win was a mix of awesome execution, serious ice in the veins, and incredible luck, but that's what dreams are made of.

Could happen again, this time the NCC opponent is not a double digit underdog by any stretch. But Spencer Stanek wasn't the Cardinal QB in 2011 either.

Highlights from NCC/UW-P:

First thing that jumped out at me was how fast Kent is. That's the speed that I thought would be so dangerous when he first go to NCC, pre knee injury. Looks to me like he's finally got it all back. He can run.

The Wabash QB in the game in question was absolutely fabulous. But despite his fabulousness (I think I made up a word) Wabash probably doesn't win that game without the "incredible luck" that USee mentioned.

Can it happen again. Sure. But it will probably again take a combination of the backup QB having the game of his life plus some luck, the incredible kind or not, for a BU victory. Not impossible by any means, but for a BU victory it would seem like they would have to play a perfect game. I do feel home field advantage (read crowd) will help negate some of the advantage gained by NCC due to the Bethel starting QB being out.

IIRC, a Wabash receiver muffed a TD reception, which bobbled right to another Wabash receiver.

Stagg Again!!

It is confirmed... Bethel doesn't have the capacity to handle two events on Saturday on their campus...

"Football fans will park at a nearby off-campus location and will be shuttled to the stadium. This shuttle is free and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m."

Poor field, no parking, crap weather.  Nice job with the site selection vetting process, NCAA!!!

I don't know if we are thinking of the same play, but on the two point conversion, we failed to cover the slot receiver.  However, our CB came off his man and made a play on the ball, which he tipped directly in the hands of the receiver he had been covering.  Not sure if it was luck in the sense it started with a missed assignment, but 95 times out of a 100, the ball falls harmlessly to the ground.  Also, we were real conservative in the 4th quarter.  I remember the broadcaster saying something along the lines of "#4 has not fumbled in the past seven zillion carries...."  Well----you know what happed next.  So much for running out the clock.
