Looks like UWP struggled a bit with the Dubuque Spartans in game two of their season.  Hopefully, NCC cleans up their mistakes and improves a lot before next week.

Yes, I would expect to see a very good UWP team and a a big and strong UWSP team.  Two tough weeks in a row for the Vikings West (speaking of Vikings).

Greg, when I click on the URL on the NPU Athletics page, it comes up as "page can't be found" -- I'm hoping that's just because the game hasn't started.  I'll check back again later.

* Jack Warner (QB): 19-28, 305 yards, 3 TD
* Artie Checchin (WR): 5 catches, 74 yards, 2 TD

* Sean Garvey (LB): 12 tackles
* John Worley (DE): 6 tackels, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble


The Titans didn't play great today, but they made some big plays on both sides of the ball to win the game.

After watching 2 games online, I'm really impressed by:

* Freshman QB Jack Warner -- IWU has a good QB that should keep getting better.

* The receivers -- Artie Checchin is a stud and I like WR Fernando Lazano and TE Brady Hails.

* The D line -- John Worley looks like an all-American candidate to me, and Jeff Jerome, Kyle Venhuizen, and Will James are impressive too.

* Tyrell Bolden - really a good player at the CB spot.

* Punter Matt Kussman (a little special teams love) - 5 punts for 43.6 avg today, 5 for 45.8 vs Franklin.  It's nice to have a good punter.

I'm not quite sold on:

* The offensive line -- Anfernee Roberts had zero running room today.

* The defense overall -- the Titans gave up 477 yards to Albion and really got bailed out by some big Albion penalties throughout the game.  On a pure passing down, the Titans are great because of Worley and that awesome pass rush.  Otherwise, the defense seems to give up chunks of 7-8 yards way too often.


Overall, I like this IWU team -- they have a lot of talent.  I don't know anything about what Wheaton has this year, but I'd guess the Titans are right there with Wheaton in that CCIW #2 spot at this point.
