Starting to think about POY and all conference awards for this year. I think it isn't nearly as obvious as years past. Some of the candidates include;

Offense:
Peter Sorenson
Dylan Warden
Johnny Peltz
Luke Thorson
Josh Williams

Defense:
Adam Dandsdill
Logan McRae
Peter Mann
Sean Garvey
Kyle Venhuizen

COY:
Swider
Planz

Disappointing result in Decatur Saturday.  Not so much that Elmhurst lost. Rather,  what it really shows is that no matter how much Kool-Aid is still be sloshed around the mouths at 190 Prospect,  the fact is Elmhurst still has some holes to fill to get out of the middle of the pack tier.  Sure, Lindsay Field is a tough place to play, but Millikin is not very good this year.  This should have been a win for Elmhurst.  Oh well,  baby steps I guess and it is looking a bit promising for Elmhurst as they groom up the new regime.

Bob Meyer?   ;D

Swider should be unanimous.  That one is easy.  I will say Sorenson for OPOY, only because Peltz hasn't been the QB the whole conference season.   DPOY?  Pick a Wheaton LB.  Dansdill was outstanding when I saw him.

USee, I'd say Peltz, Dandsdill and Swider.

We'll see soon if NCC gets in.

Swider and nobody even close to the Mike.  This year has been quite the job by the Thunder's leader.

Peltz, random Wheaton LB, and Swider.

To the victor goes the spoils.

NPU freshman WR Devin Childress leads the league in scoring -- no mean feat in this league when every year people have to compete against NCC's kicker for that title -- and has caught 11 touchdown passes thus far in CCIW play, the most since Zac Williams of IWU set the league record of 14 back in 1998. He certainly merits some discussion for All-CCIW honors.

I would be surprised if Childress is not all conference.  He is deserving.  Sorensen, Thorson, Checchin are probably 1st team w Childress, Kemp, and the kid from Elmhurst 2nd team

It's not unprecedented but I would submit Spencer Clark as a candidate for OPOY. There is a precedent for this suggestion as in 1988 John Bothe, center for Augie, won the award. Wheaton has surprised all of us by winning the CCIW and the #1 reason for their success is the play of their offensive line. Wheaton leads the league in fewest turnovers and fewest sacks. They have run the ball against the best defenses in dominant fashion and Spencer Clark is the #1 player on the #1 unit of the #1 team. If ever there was an opportunity to give this award to a lineman, I think this year is a serious consideration.

Absolutely 100% agree!   Bothe was great!   Clark for OPOY!!  I'm all for it!

So typical. What would you expect a former lineman to say?   ::)

Actually, there is more than this precedent for an O lineman receiving player of the year.  In 1984, Greg King, another Augie center, shared the award with two QBs, John Rooney from IWU and Keith Bishop from Wheaton.  I would agree that it would be a great thing to see an O lineman win this award for the first time in many years.

I am all in favor of the lineman on both sides of the ball getting accolades and recognition.  Without their successful play,  nothing would happen positively for your team.   ;D
