NCC fans, looking forward to my trip with my dad to Naperville this Saturday.  I am landing at Midway a little after 8 so I figure we will be leaving the airport about 9.  With the game being at 2 that will give us plenty of time to get to NCC.  Any suggestions for us as far as things to do/see before the game.  What about tailgating?  Breakfast suggestions near the college?  Any info would be helpful and appreciated.  We will be flying back out after the game so it is a fun 1 day trip for us.
Careful wesleydad! Thats 2 pm ET. You gain an hour in Naperville so it will be 1 pm CT :)

Great breakfast place in downtown area of Naperville called Egg Harbor....to me it is within walking distance to the field...google map it...you will not be disappointed in the food...

At least it looks like the game will be on video.  I really wish I could be there for this one!

The Cardinal tailgaters congregate in the parking lot to the NE of Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.  They start pretty early on game day.    :)

Final from Platteville - North Central blows a 21-point lead and loses 35-28 in OT.

NCC's Oshayne Brown was knocked out of the game, i believe in the 3rd quarter, after piling up 133 yards rushing. However, the Cardinals still had a 28-7 lead with 14 minutes left. Credit to UWP for never quitting, but where was the NCC defense during the 4th quarter?? A very surprising finish to say the least.  :o

It fell apart on two costly penalties that led to touchdowns in the 4th Qtr.  The first was on 3rd and thirty, we flush the qb out and for some insane reason a defensive player hits the qb when he was wayyyy out of bounds.  It wasn't even close to being a bang bang hit either.  It would have been 4th and 20 at that point and they were going to punt.  They go on to score on that drive.

The second one was a 4th and 4-5 yds to go, we stop them, but get called for a late hit on qb again.  They have new life and score on this drive as well.

Discipline went out the door in the 4th Qtr in my opinion.

I didn't see the game, but I am curious how NCC fans thought the QB rotation worked on Saturday.  I saw a graphic on Sportscenter about how Ohio State's two quarterbacks have had a dramatic and progressive decline in QBR during this season as they have rotated compared to last year when the each starter separately went the full game.

He talks about their general injury situation.  Is Peltz injured?  I only caught parts of the game at the airport on my phone, but I noticed Bowers took over permanently before the game was out of hand and after Peltz went down on a QB keeper.

Nice, will try to hit the tailgate area and see how they tailgate in the midwest.

After the tough loss this weekend, what is the feeling on this weekends game.  Any key injuries that will affect the game?  As far as I know Wesley did not suffer any and is coming into the game rather healthy.  Wesley struggled in the first half against the pass, but shut CNU down in the second half.  They are tough against the run.  On offense they finally have an Oline and running back that allow them to run between the tackles.  That is opening up an already potent passing game.  The tight end is a big one and tough to cover, wish they used him more often.  They have a tall,6'5" receiver who is tough in the red zone and the second string all american QB.  What can I expect from NCC?

With regard to the penalties discussed by NCC26, the nature of those penalties is not something that I think would normally be expected from a Thorne coached team.
Perhaps the offenders might learn by watching the next game from the sidelines instead of participating?

As far as the QB "rotation," NCC ran 45 times and passed only 22 times. Of the 22 passes, Warden threw only 8, completing only 3 for 22 yards. One was a 7 yard TD. Warden also caught 3 of Hunniford's 9 (of 14) completed passes. He ran 11 times for a net of 21 yards, an average of 1.9 YPR.
If Warden's production from the QB slot is only going to be 3 pass completions for 22 yards, and  1.9 average rush for a total of only 21 yards, perhaps the answer is to do away with the "rotation." It would seem a more passing orientated QB could better than 3 for 8 for 22 yards, and one of the Cardinals "regular" RBs could do a little better than averaging 1.9 per rush for a total of 21 yards.
With his athletic ability, maybe make Warden a full time receiver?

* Also, and IDK if it's right or note, the game statistics list Warden as one of the Cards' starting SAFETIES! Maybe he is really a DB.
I think trying to make him a THREE position player is doing him a disservice. You can't be a QB, a receiver, and a DB all at the same time no matter how good an athlete you are. There just isn't that much diverse athleticism in one body. Maybe pick one position and let him specialize? The NCC roster has 100 or so players. Someone can man the other spots. Or at least they should be able to!

I only watched about 1/2 the game.  I wondered if Peltz was hurt or not.  He was absolutely having this way both on the ground or through the air.  No way WEC was going to stop him.  I was hoping it was because the game was nearly put away at that point and it was an opportunity to give Bowers time against the first team defense.

Given the shortness and "a matter of fact" way Coach gave his post game, he was clearly not happy with the number of injuries.  I saw several key players get up slowly and then shortly thereafter not play anymore.

Luke Thorson did not play, so I'm assuming he is one of those injured in practice.  The bye is coming at a good point.

UWP probably just had Warden entered instead of Richard Zirngibl (NCC's DB captain other number 7).  The Wheaton boxscore from UWEC has the same problem with starting RB number 23 Olateju also listed as starting CB (it's acutally Alex Mendez, their other 23).

USee

I watched most of the second half at UWP including the overtime. I don't know what the NCC coaches are thinking in terms of the QB rotation but in the OT, Platteville scored a TD first and, with the game on the line, the QB for NCC was Hunniford. They ran on first down for 2 yds and then 3 straight incompletions ended the game. That decision (to put Hunniford at QB in OT) is an indication of what the NCC coaches think of their QB situation.
