When starting Bowers in 3 of the first 4 games, Wheaton has scored 55 points. Peltz started 1 game and Wheaton scored 60 points. Peltz has had better season and career passing and rushing stats. Peltz is a captain as elected by the players. Peltz is 6'3". Bowers is 5'-10" Peltz appears to be much more respected by Wheaton's opponents. Peltz is Swider's nephew. Bowers is starting. This makes no sense.??

Hmmm. First post from ncaafootballDAD. Could that possibly be Wheatonfootballdad?
Wonder what the other Wheaton football dads think? 🤔 😉 🏈

ncaafootballdad-  I don't think there is a poster, player, fan, or representative from a rival CCIW school who doesn't respect Coach Swider and his staff.  Nor have I ever heard anybody say a bad word about Swider.  I think you can rest assured Swider & Co. will put their best players on the field given (X) game.   IMO, Swider doesn't seem to be the type that would let Nepatism get in the way of a Thunder victory.

I agree Swider is well-respected and I wouldn't choose anyone else to coach the thunder.  That said he can still make mistakes. He made one. That happens.

I predict he corrects his mistake and we see Peltz Saturday.

Super excited for today's game down in B-Town... super bummed I won't be there in person...

I would have to imagine the Wheaton O, as a unit, is just chomping at the bit to get out there and prove what they can do against a very skilled/talented/tough IWU D. All the pieces are there, the sum is greater than it's parts, time to kick it into overdrive O.

Defensively, the Thunder must stop #34 Maurice Shoemaker-Gilmore who comes into today's action averaging 5.4 yards per carry and 107 yards per game (and also 29 yards per KO return). Today should be good ol' smashmouth football between the IWU O and the WC D, reminiscent of this year's WC @ Carthage game. We need the front 7 to come up big (as they have all season), stuff those running lanes and put the game in the hands of FROSH QB #7 Brandon Bauer (making only his 2nd career start). Also, I really hope WC does NOT give #34 MSG an opportunity to even carry the ball on KO returns... squib kicks, low line drives, etc... make him pick it up off the ground if he's playing "center field" and hasn't declared to the right or left side.

POSSIBLE UPSET ALERT!!  At the half, IWU 24, Wheaton 17. ;D

With their defenses (and so far somewhat struggling offenses), the combined 41 points and over 600 yards gained is already more than I would have predicted for the entire game!

:o.  No way I would have guessed that.  Not sure what to make of Wheaton this year.

Alas, the ALERT has now been canceled.  The 2nd half so far is all Wheaton - one minute into the 4th they have taken a 38-24 lead. :(

I was at the Wheaton/IWU game until about 10 minutes left in the 4th and it was becoming a bloodbath.  Still Wheaton up 38-24 at the time.  2 of the IWU scores were very long plays, one bomb of a pass.  For most of the first half neither team was stopping the other.

Being that the wife is an IWU grad and I'm a Wheaton one, we started on their side the first half (for sun reasons) and switched to Wheaton's the second half.  So I'm taking credit...;-)

Another terrible win for the Thunder who are 5-0.

In Rock Island I think we can safely say Elmhurst is pretty good on defense.

While I stepped back from my complaint mode last week, and decided to leave things where it matters (to the coaches and players), it is obvious they know what they are doing.

Time for me to just shut up and enjoy the ride.

Wow. Like watching two different games.
IWU played very well and won the 1st half. However, they were virtually invisible in the entire 2nd to the point where it appeared they watched the 2nd half from the locker room.
