Go see the city of Chicago. 20 miles East. Plenty of things to do and see. I recommend the architectural boat tour on the river. Book online in advance. It's memorable. Get Chicago pizza at Giordanos or Gino's. Should be a great game.

Agree except Lou Malnati's or Pequods have by far the best Chicago deep dish pizza.

Now you've done it.  Here comes the great pizza debate on who has the best Chicago pizza.  Architectural boat tour is an amazing way to see the city.

Not much to do in and around Wheaton city, as it is a rather small suburb of Chicago.  Downtown has only a few restaurants of note.

We've been to Giordano's before was considering that for Saturday night. :)

There is a Giordano's on Roosevelt Rd in Glen Ellyn, just east of Wheaton.  About a 10 minute drive from campus.

Huntington has a powerful offense. Averaged 567 yds a game. They run a pistol/shotgun look with a variety of weird OL spacing. About half run/half pass. QB is excellent 31 TDs and 6 INT. About 60/40 run v pass. Average 6 yds per rush. QB runs it about 10x a game and is 2nd leading rusher on the team. Very efficient. This will be strength on strength as Wheaton's D is averaging only 1.9 yds per carry.

For all who are wondering, Huntington is from Montgomery Alabama (about 100 miles south of Birmingham)

Should be an interesting trip for Huntingdon. We went over and watched the selection show with the team and friends. It was a weird couple of minutes as soon as Redlands at UMHB came up we were all sure we were headed to Hardin Simmons and didn't have to wonder what was going on for long with Linfield at HSU when we came up next. Found a flight out of ATL late Friday night for a good price and booked it. Any suggestions on where to stay and anything to see in the Wheaton area? Looking forward to a fun trip.

Looking forward to the game with Huntingdon.  Always fun to play teams from conferences we haven't had the chance to cross paths with in the past.  Been reading up as much as possible to learn more about the team and the school.  Should be a great weekend.

Giordano's business has faded for years and they had to file bankruptcy about 2-3 years ago.  Somebody came in a bought them and they still exist and you can still get a good meal there but they aren't on the same level as the others.

I'm hungry.

Agree on the architectural tour -- it should be top of list if you only have a day.  But if you opt for that, be sure to pack a windbreaker.  Because wind.

Stay in Naperville.  Lots of hotel options and 10 minutes away from Wheaton and plenty of restaurants and nightlife.

Chicago deep-dish pizza is vastly overrated by my household, but if you want pizza that is >80% bread/crust, go for it.

I know that Rose-Hulman has a stellar reputation in academics, especially engineering, but did not realize they had success on the gridiron.  They face North Central in Naperville.  I see the Cards coasting very easily and playing plenty of benchwarmers.

Wheaton will cruise as well.  Go CCIW!

Several cruise operators run architecture cruises on the Chicago River.  I recommend the one offered by the Chicago Architecture Foundation.

Both teams have work to do first, but on November 26th, the CCIW will (potentially) meet itself in the playoffs for only the 2nd time ever.

1st time was 1989 when Millikin defeated Augie 21-12 in round 1.

NCCFAN has id'd the best tourist river cruise.

As the regular season concludes, I want to congratulate Head Coach Mike Swider, his coaches and the players for a great year. Swider has again produced a top 10 team and is on the verge of another playoff spot. It is really hard to go 3 years and lose only 1 conferenceregular season game. The only other team to do so was Augie during their 4 year run as national champs.  Wheaton has a top 20 defense despite losing the player of the year in the league and is a top ten 10 after replacing his offensive coordinator.

Fixed it for you USee:)

Seriously, from a rival fan, congrats indeed to the 2014 and 2015 CCIW champion Wheatie teams who went undefeated in conference both years.

Congrats also to the new and current CCIW champs, the 8-0 2016 NCC Cardinals who also won the 2013 championship outright with a perfect 7-0 record, and who won or shared the title for the 7 years before that.

Over the last 11 years, from 2006-2016, NCC and WC have dominated the CCIW.
NCC is 72-6 over that period, and WC is 63-15 over the same period.
From 2013 through the just concluded 2016 conference season, NCC is 27-2 with WC just behind at 26-3.

Fixed it back.  8-)

We'll see what the AFCA does with John Carroll tomorrow and whether you can still make that claim with a poll that isn't a week old.

I can make the claim no matter what any poll says. And I think Wheaton is a top ten team. Moving JCU from 16-7, while I understand why voters did it, implies that somehow JCU is better than we thought when the reality may be that Mt Union isn't as good as we thought.
