Or USee it could be a showcase for UMHB to recruit good ol' Texas boys to take a look at Mary Hardin-Baylor..  ;D

Uhh ... does UMHB really have trouble with that?

if they do, that would be the only weakness I've seen on this board from some of these fans.

I once asked a professional golfer I met who competed during the Jack Nicklaus/Tom Watson era (who, if I included his name, is known but not a "major" winner) "When you were playing, what was your greatest strength?" His answer "My greatest strength was that I had no weaknesses".

Slightly different recruiting model for Wheaton.  Here is a breakdown on players by state on Wheaton's Roster:

State# of Players
Illinois21
Michigan17
California12
Colorado8
Florida8
Texas6
Indiana6
Georgia6
Tennessee5
Ohio3
Wisconsin3
Minnesota3
Pennsylvania3
Missouri2
Mississippi2
New Jersey2
Iowa2
Washington2
Virginia2
Nebraska1
South Carolina1
Nevada1
Arizona1
Massachusetts1
Louisiana1

Wow, that's really interesting.  I can see why this playoff game is a great chance for them to impress potential recruits from TX.

Recruiting? Odd with the record LINFIELD had against the BELTON BOYS not 1 recruit on a 110 person roster from Lonestarville.
Not even Florida like University of Mount Union.

What about Niles Tuihalangingie (Humble, Texas)  and Ishmael MacNeil (Pipe Creek, Texas)?

Well Chicago is a major market so there is some attraction. In addition, Wheaton's profile is quite different than Linfield and I don't think we attract the same type of recruit. Wheaton has always drawn well nationally and has alums in every state.

I think Wheaton has more name recognition outside of football too.

I agree with that....Wheaton's Christian centered education does have a national brand to it while Linfield is much more of a Pacific Northwest small college brand. George Fox, down the road from us, would love to have what Wheaton has going on in that field.  The Bruins do like calling us "Sinfield".

And former Wheaton player & defensive coordinator Rod Sandburg is attempting to replicate the success at Whitworth.

Heh.  Similarly, Hardin-Simmons gets referred to as "Hardened Sinners" in the ASC.  I see a trend.

"Chicago"? Hmpf. Wheaton College is 30 miles and an hour's drive outside of Chicago (i.e., the Loop).

I've always suspected that Wheaton recruiters emphasize the school's proximity to Chicago when talking to prospects and its distance from Chicago when talking to parents. ;)

He's doing a good job too and now Whitworth is going to dump a bunch of money into their football facilities as well.

By they way, the guys did a great job on the commentary, ya'll put on a first class broadcast, I've watched it twice now.
Much appreciated.  We actually had a ton of technical issues last week.  The regular season matchup vs. Wheaton was a much tighter broadcast.

If I might say, the reason I enjoyed the broadcast was the camera was not bad at all for a single position. I've watched a lot of games, some great broadcasts and some which were like a student with an iPhone on a tripod, but it's the attempt I appreciate, but you guys made the game interesting, no gaps or pauses, pointed out things and I for one appreciate that so keep up the good job.
