True.  Bottom, line is Elmhurst can do themselves a big service by carefully selecting a worthy candidate,  and making that choice ASAP. 

I hope they are able to find somebody with proven experience and a history of success.  Not a "pie in the sky" selection.

Alas, I know that is much easier said than done... :P

Sounds like guys at U of Dubuque and Lacrosse may be in some hot water. Obviously did not make an impact on Saturday's as Whitewater routed both teams last year, but still would have to think some consequenses will be coming to both staffs.  Bad look for all involved!

Why would those guys even think about doing that, for crying out loud?  What a bunch of fools, all the way around, including the guy who originally sent it to them.

So here is the question for everyone-what would you do, as far as consequences, if you were the AD. President, on the Board of Trustees of those schools?  Immediate dismissal? Suspension? Penalty in not being allowed to coach the first 4-5 games of next season? Pay deduction (i.e. fine)?  It will be interesting to see what happens.  And this is at DIII!!!!

Any coach for whom there is hard evidence that he had an opponent's privileged, in-house game-prep material in his possession, even if it was obtained passively through an unrequested e-mail forward that he did not then immediately report to the AD, should be fired for cause.

I think they should be given 10 hours community service and forced to write a paper on why it's not a good idea to steal stuff.

I do not understand the timing of why retiring AD Surridge would fire Coach Conway and then hire someone before a new AD is in place.

Perhaps the outgoing AD provided a small window to resign under the threat of termination.  Shall we say, "Conway did not leave willingly and was forced out?"

What do you think about the timing of the decision?

No, Mark, we shall not say that. He didn't resign under the threat of termination. Again, Mike Conway left of his own accord.

I have no dispute with it. It happened right after the season ended, which is the proper way to do it if you're going to resign a coaching job. By doing so, he gave NPU the maximum time it could've had to find and hire a new head coach while still preserving some shred of the recruiting cycle. By his timing Mike did NPU a solid in the way that he left the school, which should surprise no one. He's a man of integrity who really does want the best for North Park University.

He got hired right away. That doesn't happen after a termination.
