Here's a motivational video:  NCC @ Wabash in 2011.

That was an amazing comeback.  Doubt we will see any miracles this time, but you just never know.
We won't because a 4 loss season and getting to the playoffs is just good enough. ;)

NCC was looking ahead to Mount Union 2011 and they got bushwacked in C'ville.

North Central lost in 2011 because Wabash was better, not because North Central's attention was elsewhere.

Didn't Erik Raeburn (in a Monon Bell Chapel) talk about a certain halftime provocation that day? That probably didn't help.

I did look on the D3.com page but did not see this. Thanks!

Interesting stuff. Wabash losing in week 11 definitely helped NCC get into the field as it opened up a spot for WashU to get in and that RR win must have been the difference between them and Susquehanna (as well as UWW losing and making NCC's loss to N1 vs Susquehanna to S2).

Razor thin margins here.

Yep -- when the NCAA can't get it published until the second day after the bracket, it's hard to justify front page space for it, but the news menu is updated and we posted it to Twitter.

Golfer - you're right, sarcasm doesn't always come through, but I owe you an apology. I read that after seeing others (NCAC page and Facebook) lobbying for a coaching change, and I mistakenly remembered you being among them. My bad entirely -- WAF
It's either a thoughtful comment or smartass sarcasm. Recognize the difference.

No problem! I haven't voiced a need for a change, although I do think that it's a discussion that will probably happen. I'd like to give him one more year.

Congratulations to the award winners:

OPOY Broc Rutter, QB NCC
DPOY Dallas McRae, DL Wheaton
Off Lineman of the year: Sharmore Clarke, NCC
Coach of the Year: Mike Swider, Wheaton

I thought they got most of the choices right. I was a bit surprised there was only one RB chosen as first team. Glad Mike Murphy was a 1st Team DL as he had a monster year. There are some very good players that weren't recognized.

HansenRatings has updated spreads for the playoff games:

https://www.hansenratings.com/game-predictions

NCC -41.5 over Wabash
Wheaton -54.9 over Martin Luther

The selections reflect the strengths we've noted all year for the two playoff teams:
Nine Wheaties received first or second team recognition on defense.
Eight Cardinals received first or second team recognition on offense.

This is a very dangerous NCC team in the playoffs.

^  which is why I think the NCAA didn't do them or Mount any favors with the bracketing.  That pairing is regional final quality or better.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

article on each team's potential playoff fortunes. NCC won't make it past the 2nd round, per the experts (and I'm sure most Mt Union fans)

Wheaton predicted to get to the semis at least.

Carthage nickname change?

https://www.kenoshanews.com/news/local/carthage-mulls-changing-nickname-mascot/article_84549b7e-1e51-5dce-9e86-c1f2a5d2b806.html#tracking-source=home-top-story-1

Political Correctness 101.

Whatever any new mascot name might become, let's hope it's a little more creative than the switch from Redmen to Red Men was.

And, speaking of new, Carthage was founded by Phoenicians in 814 BC. It's Phoenician name means "New Town." Sacked by Rome in 146 BC, the inhabitants of Carthage were know to the Romans as Peoni. So, how about the Peonies? ::) Then again, maybe not 🤔.
Just an example of how crazy these attempts at political correctness can get.

Whatever new nickname might evolve, you can be sure of one thing——it will offend some individual or group.
