Just got word that we've got a home game!
Where did you hear NT?

I got word from a higher up.  It's on Twitter now.
Thank you NT... also posted on the NCC and Del Val websites.

Highlights from the game yesterday. Mount fans...my partner does a great job and will highlight good plays from both teams. You may also want to check it out.

Yea, but yesterday would you have taken "win at mount and then..." over home against StJu and UMHB? I wouldn't

No, thus, why I added that they earned it with that win. Simply put, going forward, NCC has the better path out of the CCIW schools. I think Wheaton beats St. John's but not UMHB.

Oddly enough, now that the Cardinals beat Mount Union, I think they have an easier path to the title game than Wheaton does. I'd take Muhlenberg & Salisbury over St. John's & Mary Hardin-Baylor everyday. Cardinals earned it with that win.

It was a great win, without question, for North Central today. However, there is no easy path to the title game for anyone. I believe that both Wheaton and North Central have a good chance, but it will be a tough challenge. I do think we will see some good 3rd and 4th round games the next two weekends.

"Easier" does not mean easy. It means relatively easier.

Just want to say congrats Cardinals... I may be a JCU man, but my dad is an NCC man and was a 4 year starter back in the 70s.. Not as much fun for me personally as our 2016 win against Mount and then Whitewater, but still was awesome watching the game at home with my dad.. We'll be at the game in Naperville this Saturday. I'm surely hoping that you all can win it all, between my dad and then also knowing that many of the guys I played High School ball with played at North Central (and also growing up in Naperville), I'd really enjoy seeing a rematch against Wheaton in Texas in a couple weeks. Good Luck!

NCC @ UMU highlights

Congrats to the NCC Cards on a most impressive performance, accomplishing something that hasn't been done since 1994 (knocking UMU out of the tourney prior to the SemiFinals).

The scene with John Thorne leading the team in the NCC chant gave me chills (& that ain't easy to do for those of us with orange-and-blue pumping thru our veins).

Congrats to the Wheaton Thunder for their 49-13 victory over a tough, gritty Central Dutch squad. The Thunder came out of the gate swinging hay-makers, putting up 35 1st quarter points. Coach Swider referenced his challenge to the team (to be ready from the opening kick) in his post game interview. What a response by this determined group of young men.

From the "I spy" category... during the National Anthem, I noticed Sr captain Corey Kennedy shaking/shivering quite a bit, as if he were "chilled to the bone". Not long after the game started, saw him flip off the top of a garbage can, and proceed to hurl quite violently into said can. All signs point to the young man playing thru the flu (or something similar) and not missing a beat.

That's the kind of grit and determination it's going to take to defeat the Johnnies this upcoming Saturday. The Johnnies will invade McCully with a complete, tough, skilled football team with a loyal fan base that will travel.

Wheaton fans, your presence and your voices are mandatory this Saturday. It's the first ever Quarterfinal to take place @ McCully. If that doesn't make your blood boil... then go to a doctor, you are not well!!!

Let's do this... and more importantly...

LET'S ROLL!

Boys;  We're bringing in a crew from SJU Saturday and looking for a solid recommendation for pregame.

You're thoughts?

Ha. Go to NCC game in Naperville, better spots there.

You can try Ivy in downtown Wheaton, it's a nice spot with a good bar. There is Front Street Cocina, great Mexican food and drinks. For any more than that you will have to ask Mugsy or thunderdog. Those guys know all the local haunts better than me. Sager probably also knows.

Pretty cool that half the games this Saturday are about 20 minute drive apart.
