Can't really say either team hasn't faced a team of "that" caliber before Friday. This year at least there is more known about the teams playing in the Stagg because they have faced teams on the other side of the bracket. (UWW v UWO v Salis v Muhl; NCC v Wheaton v STJu v UWW). Seems like we have two teams in the same zip code of each other. So much depends on matchups though so we'll see.

Mike Swider Discussion on Retirement, Legacy, and What's Next

I was bitter on football for many years.  Having experienced the players of my generation cheating using steroids.  As a drug free power-lifter ADFPA who lifted at the same gyms as these guys it really sours you.
While living in Wheaton in 2003 or 04 watching WETN and the Wheaton Thunder FB team I fell in love with football again.

Thank you Coach Swider:
for showing me the values I played football for were still there.
It has been a pleasure watching you coach through the years.

do we realize that if Mount Union had won that game, we very well could have seen a Mount/UWW Stagg bowl?
thanks for ruining the 10 Year Challenge NCC!
(Although, go Cardinals!)

I think 100% it would have been UWW/Mount again. No way Mount loses to Del Valley or Muhlenberg.

Yea, for all the talk about parity and other teams we were probably 1-2 plays away from Mt Union vs UWW this Friday.

You could easily argue but for a few plays it would be UMU vs SJU.  But it's what it is UWW vs NCC.

You could also argue that but a few plays it would be NCC-SJU.  They end of the reign of terror of the Purples! :o ;D

As it should be.   It's not nearly as fun when the top 2 steamroll their way to the Stagg.

Good Luck to the North Central College Cardinals tomorrow night!   So want the team that beat our Aggies to GO ALL the WAY!

Any updates out there on the Wheaton search?

I imagine many NCC fans are en route to Texas- safe travels to all.

With WI and IL ties, regardless of the outcome, I feel as though my team has already won.
I hope for a great and injury-free game.

Go everyone.

Just wanted to say Good Luck to all of the NCC players, coaches and fans for tomorrow night's championship game.  It is a very special experience to play in the Stagg Bowl and something the players and coaches will remember for the rest of their lives.  I'm really hoping they can bring a national championship back to the CCIW!

Good Luck to NCC tomorrow. Safe travels to everyone heading to the game. I'll be rooting for the Cards.

Well, good. Then hopefully you can dispense with the chicken little hand-wringing on the in-game board. You know, since it feels like your team has already won. Or better yet, go on the CCIW in-game board and nit pick the Cardinals!

Ouch. Is there not room enough in my heart for two? I say yes, yes there is.
