The best D3 teams get the best transfers. And they all NEED the transfers to be a top D3 program.

Speaking of transfers, Wheaton has two new transfers from a D-1 school and a D-2 school.  QB Ben Thorson (younger brother of former Northwestern QB standout Clayton Thorson) from Western Kentucky and Defensive Back Jadin Watson from Lindenwood University in Missouri.

Interesting that a QB would transfer to Wheaton when they already have a young D1 transfer at QB.

The place down the road would have seemed like a more logical choice.

Ben Thorson wasn't going to any CCIW school other than Wheaton, no chance. His dad was a 2x DPOY and 2 of his brothers played there and he grew up 1 block from the school.

He settled.... ;) ;) :D :D

Broc Rutter was the lone QB at both the NIU pro day (3/4)  and the Northwestern pro day (3/10) in the last week. Sounds like he performed pretty well at both. Reports out of Miami that they met with him yesterday. Here's hoping he gets picked up by someone!

Hi all - is there a good website/source for d3 college football recruiting/commits?

Sure is. The site is right here, you are on it.

Nobody really collects this information in a systematic way. There are thousands and thousands of D3 "commits" per year, and I put commit in quotes because, of course, there is nothing actually binding a student to a D-III school, or to actually go out for football once they announce they are attending.

Hi Doc

Nice to see you're still out there. I've been posting on the MIAC board. Miss seeing your comments. Stay safe and stay well! 😷  ;D

Hello MUC.  Thanks.  I am glad you are doing better and sure hope that you and everyone else around the boards remain healthy.
I will just say I am glad I don't work in an ER, although I am grateful and have the highest respect for those docs, nurses, PAs, clerks,
housekeeping staff, etc., who are going above and beyond in providing care/being available for everyone.  They know the risk in exposing themselves and their families potentially, however, that is a pure example of service and unselfishness.

You, too, stay safe and well.  I wish the same to Pat, his staff and everyone on these boards.  Keep the Faith and follow the protocols! :)

The secret password is a subscription to The Athletic.

That's not gonna happen. Zero chance I pay to read a North Central article.

It mentions the loss to Wheaton.  Does that change the calculus? :)

Ha. Nope. I am sure whatever it says isn't worth the price of admission.

By the way, I think Bloomberg.com has the right model. They (and some other news publications) give you a couple articles a month for free before you have to pay. Seems to me that would attract more subscriptions than the current format by The Athletic.

The Athletic gives you a 90-day grace period before you have to pay.  That may be enough time for a Wheaton guy to look up the multi-syllabic words and get through the article.
