The Athletic gives you a 90-day grace period before you have to pay.  That may be enough time for a Wheaton guy to look up the multi-syllabic words and get through the article.

Plus the article talks a bit about what the program needed to do to win a national championship in football.  That's something I would think Wheaton might want to learn about.  :D

The problem is you have to enter your credit card info and they automatically bill you at the end of 90 days unless you go through a detailed and microscopic web of bureaucracy to find a phone number and eventually  wait on the phone for 30 minutes to speak to someone to proactively cancel it. That's a bad business model.

We know how to beat North Central, does the article tell your kicker how to make an extra point or your DB's not to fall down?

Nope, but if it did, that would just be one more reason why a Wheatie might want to read it.  ::)

Broc Rutter has signed with San Fran as a priority free agent.

IWU's recruits...

One thing of note from this article - it seems clear Norm Eash doesn't know who his QB will be in 2020.  He mentions the top QB recruits, and that there will be competition between returning QBs and newcomers.

-----
IWU's biggest question mark coming into the fall will be at quarterback. Brandon Bauer was a four-year starter and when he got hurt last season was replaced by another senior, Johnny DiCanio. The Titans added five quarterbacks to go with three still on the roster. The top freshmen prospects are Harry Abell of North Central (Ind.), Brody Ceh of Lincoln-Way West and Sage Shindler of Walter Payton Prep in Chicago.

"They're all different kinds of quarterbacks," said Eash. "Harry Abell is a bigger one (6-2, 215) and played at a bigger program in Indiana. Sage is the smaller of the three (5-10, 160),  but he's most like a Brandon Bauer as far as getting the ball out ... There's going to be some competition there (at quarterback) unless anything changes with a transfer over the summer."

Join the club!  I did note that in Norm's words as well. NCC will probably see 8-10 QB's looking to walk into a pretty good situation for them!  You have last year's backup to Broc Rutter, plus two others on the roster hopefully returning, two transfers and maybe 4-5 freshmen?   With most likely a pre season top 5 ranking, no spring, a short and/or limited preseason, somebody pretty tough mentally will have to come out of camp with that job.   NCC recruiting class is quite good.  There could be some kids come in and challenge for pt.  We will see!  Hope you and all of your families are safe and healthy during this time!

NCC #1 and Wheaton #2 in Street & Smith's 2020 Preseason Top 25...

Curious and excited to see if the CCIW can really break through that purple ceiling on a consistent and long term basis now.  NCC obviously showed it can be done this past season.  Hopefully it's not a one and done situation and as a conference, we can really stay in the rankings of the 1A's instead of topping out in the 1B's since the 80's Augie teams.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

These two battle it out early this year. September 19th in Naperville (2nd game for both). With no spring practice Wheaton is going to have an advantage with veteran QB and 9 starters back from the #1 Defense in the land. I hope we have a season, CCIW will be tough this year.
