UW-Lacrosse is a much stronger team than anyone Mount may face in the first three rounds.

I'm scratching my head on why they are away to Albion rather than hosting... IDK if their facility was unavailable or if the committee is looking at this very differently than I would expect.  Even in the capsules on the main site presume Lacrosse is the higher seed of the two.

According to info I found on the NCAA site, as of 11/14, Albion was ranked #2 in Region 4, and UWL was ranked #4 in Region 6. As such, the answer mght be that the game is indeed being played at the higher ranked team's home.
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

This is the time of year every team prepares for. Playing in big games in November and December is what it's all about at the top programs. Another factor that impacts success in the playoffs is injuries. Many teams are figuring out their lineups this week with guys who are out or limited. One of the reasons I think Wheaton and North Central can go far in these playoffs is that both teams have avoided injuries this year. Wheaton is starting the same 22 today that played in week 1. That might be the first time that's ever happened. That's a big deal. And from what I can tell, North Central has the same starting 22 that played against the Thunder in week 2.

Keeping your best players on the field in the playoffs is a huge key to success. (getting an unexpected bye week in the playoffs helps too.  :P)

Great points!  Both teams fortunate thus far for sure. Any changes to lineups have been based on depth chart changes. "Bye week", while unexpected, isn't the worse thing for the Cards to rest up the legs and any nagging injuries.  Wishing the best to the Wheaton Thunder and Wash U Bears as well.  I'm sure both will represent the CCIW well!

Bethel is on the ropes v. Central. Unfortunately for Wheaton, their announcers are pretty sure the same result will occur next week. Dutch color guy at least is confident you are not the a top 3 team in D3. Use that motivation as you will.  :)

Oh, those guys. The same announcers that, while the game was still relatively close, were whining that Bethel was committing a penalty and were begging for a flag on what seemed like about every other offensive play that Central ran.

Wheaton steamrolls Aurora. Zimbelman was a force. Unfortunately for Aurora, you need to do more than one thing really well to win football games as Aurora only tallied 15 yards rushing while Wheaton tallied well over 400 yards rushing with over 200 yards through the air as well.

Hazzbeen helps bring the first bulletin board material to life that was given before Central even went final against Bethel. Interesting strategy from the Dutch. A scary good and rolling Thunder football team travels to Iowa next Saturday.

You need an O line that won't get pulverized by the Wheaton front 7, and a D line that functions as something other than a sieve.  ;)
I'm not sure why anyone would have thought Aurora would have had much of a chance in this game.

I thought I read that the CCIW needed Wheaton to play in the bowl thing to have a chance.

I should probably just keep quiet, but I'm a radio guy and we don't do well with keeping quiet.  We "whined" for one very obvious missed defensive holding / PI penalty on a seem route in the first half.  That's it.  Our fans wanted a flag on Bethel on seemingly every play, and if you were paying attention, we specifically commented on how off-base that was.

And my color guy has NCC, UMHB, Linfield as his personal top 3.  I think he has Wheaton 5th?  Not exactly bulletin board material.  They're a great team who stuck it to us in 2019 and we have given them plenty of love.  It's going to be a massive challenge next Saturday.

Thanks to all the Bethel fans for listening.  You've got a great team and will be a force to be reckoned with in 2022 with all the talent set to come back.

I will agree that we could hear the Central contingent screaming for flags, but they acknowledged that was fans being fans. Interested to see how the Central lines hold up vs Wheaton. We are down some dlineman and that had been our Achilles heel all year. Central made us pay for that shortcoming today.

Because it was 14-13 after one and AU was moving the ball at will on Wheaton. Their only chance was to keep that up the whole game but obviously virtually impossible.
