I feel really bad for the parents of the NCC players.  Making 2 trips to Ohio in less than a week probably isn't possible for many.  So do you risk potentially missing your son's last game if they lose to Mount or do you risk missing the National Championship game?
Wow, so unfair! I am not sure it feels fair for any team to get to host every round except the championship. That said, if you are going to say that is okay, it is wrong for the defending champ and #1 ranked team to have to go on the road.

Washed up card, wish we could have made it to Ohio. Best of luck to you.

Sources: Committee made decision to give Mount Union home game in national semifinals over North Central "based on the numbers." When pointed out that committee ignored rule it wrote after 2010 season explicitly for this situation, there was acknowledgement, no explanation. #d3fb

This doesn't make sense though, the only number advantage Mount has is an extremely slim SOS

Okay, yep, I'm pissed.
Which 2010 rule are they referring to?

Rule that came out of UWW having to travel despite being undefeated and defending champ. The next year they added "previous championship experience" language to the criteria.

Thanks! The rule makes sense. Ironically, we were the beneficiaries of that in 2010. The last time Mount won was 2017, so the only members left from that team still in the program would be super seniors. How recent does the "previous championship experience" need to be?

Evidently recent previous championship experience doesn't count for much.
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Don't surround yourself with yourself. 🧍🏼‍♂️(Yes)

Assuming those "numbers" had $$$ in front of them!!

I have been a die-hard Mount Union fan for 30 years--and I think this decision is a travesty.  NCC, by every measure out there, should be hosting the game this weekend.  Defending Nat'l champs, higher ranking all year, higher seed in the tournament, etc.

That being said, I am glad I get to sit in my usual seat this weekend to cheer on the Raiders.

Here's to a good, clean game!

I refuse to think that the NCAA wanting MU in the title game has anything to do with it. I suspect they mean "by the numbers" is that MU had a higher SOS and rewarded that.

With that said, how can the majority of the NCAA reps in the room not say NCC is defending champ, #1 team in the country and have never hosted a Semi-final game which should result in them hosting is troubling to say the least.

So, if NCC wins the whole thing again and we're in the same situation again next year, same out come? How many titles in a row does NCC need to win in a row before they get to host?

Prof, we have thoroughly enjoyed our last two trips to Alliance, have met some phenomenal and extremely knowledgeable football fans, and are looking forward to our trip next weekend. That all said, let's please add "well officiated" to your list.  As you can understand, we are not a very trusting group after having gotten completely screwed by the NCAA.  If there is absolutely any sign of poor or unbiased officiating, it will confirm that the fix is in!

Is record v. RRO opponents one of the criteria Big Red?  If it is, I think this argument falls flat.

It won't soothe anyone's hurt feelings but it does provide some rational.  Clearly the NCAA thinks that Mount is the better team based upon their metrics.  We will see on Saturday.

I was just about to share this. Basically, the whole "once ranked, always ranked" thing rears its ugly head again, and the no-contest against Carnegie Mellon comes back to bite.

I am not happy.
