ESPN has a say in who is the home team. In 2019 NCC was designated as home team even though UWW was higher ranked. I believe they felt the Warhawk fan base was larger and would show better on TV in the visitor stands with the cameras all on the home side.  Big mistake since NCC travelled much better to Shenandoah than UWW in 2019.

Or perhaps ESPN liked NCC's red & white home uniforms more than UWW's darker home colors.  I'll bet they'll like UMHB's yellow duds. All red NCC vs all yellow UMHB?

I would expect classic red jersey and white pants... just like in 2019.  You do everything the same if it works!

NCC Fans

Congrats to the Cardinals of NCC. I looked at 4 factors that I thought contributed to the outcome.
But the most important was that NCC was the better team. They made the Raiders look very inept much of the game. They deserve to be in the Stagg Bowl (again), having a chance to be national champs.

Talked to some really nice people before the game - parents of # 98. I told them I would silently cheer for their son. Looks like I didn't need to.

Again, congratulations on a fine season and a trip to The Stagg Bowl. What bothers me is you'll be back next year.
Oh well, Mount has a great women's lacrosse team that I follow. Go Raiders!  ;D
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

New Big Blue coach better win early  ??? ???

https://decaturian.com/news/2021/12/07/millikin-declares-financial-stringency/

What benefit is there in announcing this? Doesn't it just make all the employees
To start looking for new jobs? Going to make it very tough to convince recruits to come to Decatur?

WUPHF

It is likely a condition of laying off tenure-track faculty based on their shared governance agreements.

The phrase financial stringency does make it sound serious even if they expect to be around for the long haul.

I remember when you guys came out to Linfield for a playoff game. You guys were very good and had a very good QB and HalfBack.... does anyone remember that?

I sure do.  You're right. In QB, Spencer Stanek and RB, Nick Kukuc you saw two of the best in school history but we just couldn't stop turning the ball over that day.  Looking for a great day out of the Cards this Friday! Go Cards!

Linfield QB was really good. Your guys had a tough time stopping our RB (192 yds on 25 carries), but we turned the ball over 7 times (5 int, 2 fumbles), including a pick-6 and a fumble at the goal line by another RB.  I remember sitting in the stands wishing we would just give the ball to RB Kukoc on every play.

I was sitting in the stands hoping we'd pull that one out.  I didn't want the season to end just yet. Tough day.

Any word on the 3 NCC Olinemen who missed for COVID? Hoping they're at full strength for the Stagg Saturday. Judging by what I watched against UWW, they'll need every healthy body they can manage against UMHB!

Both visiting teams won in the semis to reach the Stagg Bowl.

We must have had the count wrong bc on the pod today Thorne said it was 2 linemen (RT and RG) out as well as Defensive Captain/LB Ben Wong. Didn't divulge whether they'd be back or not.

Fortier was wearing #65 instead of #67 which may have lead to some confusion.
