Oh, it's food!  Here I thought Charcoal Delights was the name of GS's band from college.

No ... but now in retrospect I'm kicking myself for not starting a band with that name. It's actually not bad, as band names go.

(Incidentally, when I was a North Park student the restaurant was called the Hot Dog Pit. They changed the name to Charcoal Delights when they tore down the old restaurant and built a bigger version next door in 1986. Old heads who went to NPC in the '60s, '70s, and early '80s still call it "the Pit," so I have to revert back and forth depending upon the age of the person with whom I'm conversing when we talk about the restaurant.)

Charcoal Delights has a website if you want to peruse the menu or buy a gift certificate. :)

And remember, the more you buy, the bigger Sager's commission!  ;D
Show him your receipts and he might treat you next time you're in NPU territory.  8-)
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Last week NCC dismantled Millikin without any of it's usual three starting wide receivers playing. This week, as they take a big step up in the level of competition vs. WashU, two of the three (DeAngelo Hardy & Peter Braithwaite) return. They'll be joined by one of last week's starters, Jacob Paradee, an excellent all-around Cardinal contributor who is probably the team's usual #4 WR as well as being the Cards holder and top punt returner.

Boy, I wish. I've been reading the Charcoal Delights ad on the air for over a decade now, and still no free meal for yours truly.

(I did get a free bottle of water from CD once, however, in the middle of an NPU baseball doubleheader when we ran out of water in the Holmgren press box. It was about 90 degrees out, and I think that the CD shift manager felt sorry for me.)

Take a copy of your above post into CD, and show them you're acting as a de facto agent for the business by promoting their website/products. Maybe they'll soften somewhat and set you up with a pre or post game meal.

I mean, the reality is you, me and Sager could have lined up at WR last week for the Cardinals and it wouldn't have mattered. 64 rushes for 600 yds. Didn't need much WR production.

There might have been a slight drop in downfield blocking proficiency, but yeah...point made.

I think I pulled a hamstring just reading this...  :)

You may see me there if you go on Saturday. I have a tripleheader to call -- football versus Augie at 1 pm, women's soccer versus Wheaton at 4 pm, men's soccer versus Wheaton at 7:30 pm -- so I'll probably be in CD more than once tomorrow.

My thinking wasn't that they needed any more WR production vs a lowly opponent last week, but rather that they are fortunate to get 2/3s of the starting WR contingent back for tomorrow (my birthday  ;D) because of the much increased likelihood they'll be needed against a much stronger opponent who they probably won't get anywhere near 600 rushing yards against.

Starting at the WRs, USee, Sager, and NMU. Makes the bones hurt just thinking about it! BUT, I was indeed a WR in my playing days. Of course yes, that was indeed long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.  ;)
