Congratulations Greg.  It's nice to see your Alma Mater recognize you and embrace Alumni Involvement for so long.
Not every school does this so it is great to see you get recognized for your heart and passion.

I believe the only change from a season ago is that Illinois Wesleyan flip-flopped with Carroll to tie Augustana for fourth.

Greg,

Late to the party here, but congrats on such a nice honor.  That really is awesome to get that king of recognition.

Spartan, I don't think IWU will be much better this year.  Hard to beat NCC and Wheaton.  Perhaps they will finish third, but lots of uncertainties, new folks in key positions.   They lost some key guys, esp. in the receiving corps.  7-3 would be very good.  6-4 or 5-5 more likely.  IMHO.

For those of you who may not have heard we lost a legend recently in the passing of Mark Krueger.  When I was doing PBP games for the Bluejays Mark would often sub for Bruce Hill doing Public Address, and then often teamed up with Ken Bartels doing the local TV.  Mark continued to do a lot of Media activities in a variety of realms.

I recall bouncing ideas off of Mark and really regarded him highly.   He will be truly missed.   :(

Wow. I had no idea. RIP Mark Krueger. Yes, he will certainly be missed.

Any idea who will be taking over PBP duties for Elmhurst?

Since 1970, has North Park ever started a season 2-0?

Yes, in fact North Park has started off 2-0 since 1970 six times:

In 1971 the Vikings started off 3-0 ... and eventually finished 4-5.

In 1980 the Vikings started off 2-0 ... and eventually finished 3-6.

In 1993 the Vikings started off 2-0 ... and eventually finished 4-4-1.

In 1994 the Vikings started off 2-0 ... and eventually finished 3-6.

In 2005 the Vikings started off 3-0 ... and eventually finished 3-7.

In 2011 the Vikings started off 3-0 ... and eventually finished 3-7.

Thanks for the info!  I went to the NP opening game against Manchester and witnessed a dumpster fire (understatement).  NP, with its most veteran team in many years, must start 1-0 with a victory at Manchester this year.  The next foe, Carroll, spanked NP by 42 points last year.  Carroll, and this is extremely hard for me to believe, finished above .500 in the CCIW last year!  Looks quite bleak that the Vikings begin the season 2-0.

Manchester has yet to post its roster, so it's impossible to get a read upon how much the Spartans return from last season. However, the Man U roster had very few seniors on it last season, and there's always the chance that some of those seniors will elect to use their Covid waiver and come back, anyway. The Spartans do have a new head coach, but I would expect Manchester to be as good, if not better, than it was last season.

That means that NPU has to improve that much more from last season to overtake the Spartans in northern Indiana fifteen days from now. And, of course, this year NPU's the road team.

Manchester was "good" last year?  As in NP held Man U 15 points below the avg points scored against NP in its remaining nine games?
