Could be heresy but Janiak feeling a little Matt Wenger-like today.

If NCC holds on they would be without Orr for the 1st half next week. Called for a questionable targeting penalty.

Rough day for these refs (against both teams).

Seems he got injured in the 1st quarter on the rugby scrum that was called a fumble. Never came back in. Coleman left injured (non contact) as well.

I believe this call can be reviewed after the game and potentially overturned. It did not look like targeting to me.

While he did hit him shoulder to helmet, it was one of those where the plane was changing as Orr was diving in and would have been shoulder to shoulder a split second earlier.

Refs didn't cover themselves in glory today.

I didn't think the refs were nearly as bad as the announcers made them out to be.

Both sending offs were wrong, and they missed one late (33 for NCC got punched in the junk). Also thought they blew a couple incompletion calls and the Sacco fumble, off the top of my head.

At the conclusion of today's festivities, both coaching staffs were observed bidding the officiating crew a very fond adieu and wishing them well in their next assignment(s )  ;)

Have been wondering about Lehnen's performance from today and was considering maybe he was fighting an injury but just realized he was in Vegas Tuesday for the Campbell Trophy ceremony that evening and was probably not home until sometime Wednesday. I'm sure that didn't help things.

The Third Division

Couldn't he have just hopped on a zoom call or something?

As delineated above by robertgoulet, North Central was especially upset with the targeting call that likely wasn't.

Springfield likewise found fault with several calls. However the Pride gave evidence of being an especially chippy outfit. They lost a TD on an illegal blindside crack back block, had two unsportsmanlike penalties called, and two of their players were ejected for their transgressions. Additionally, a Springfield player openly swung and connected with Cardinal Danny Nuccio. The incident occurred out in the open right in front of the stands and was visible to the majority of those in attendance but was either missed or ignored by the officials. If it had justifiably been called, it could have easily resulted in a 3rd ejection for the team from Massachusetts.
