Thanks!  Glad I'm in good company!  BTW, irish, hope you are doing well.

redman:
Thanks to you too!  Also, one quick question:  you're not showing any bias regarding Carthage are you? ??? i.e. the uniforms vote ;D  They are sharp though.

augievike:
Well, we do have to have a little levity from time to time around here. ;) But, you're right, serious football talk is what's manily intended here!

irish,

I was originally looking for teams that were only a color, not a color modifying another mascot (and can't believe I forgot the Crimson or the Maroons!) - the Green Wave and the Blue Devils don't count!

And what's with the 'Golden Hurricane' of Tulsa - that oughta make Tulane feel real good when they face them late this season!  Tulsa, were you too chickens*** to go with 'Golden Tornados'?!

Incidentally, I had 3 nephews who played football for the Green Dragons, and a niece who played basketball - go for it, Aledo!

True NCC has done good so far, but they have not faced an attack clicking like Augie's either.  Both offenses come in ready to try to blow the others out of the water, and i belive that augies defense will rise to the challenge and get the job done.  I don't see NCC being able to stop Augie this year.  The team just looks to focused and read to execute.  Plus the game is at the Rock which i think gives Augie another advatage.

sica-
You can't compare the Augie Defense against Elmhurst to NCC's game against Elmhurst. That was the worst defensive performance of the year for Augie. Using your logic, NCC's defense won't be up to the task because they gave up 20+ points to a Carthage team that Augie gave up 0 to. So does that mean NCC's defense won't be up to the task? Of course not.  Both teams have been clicking, and should be a well played game for both teams. It might just come down to who can score last ( just like the last couple of Augie Wheaton games)

Was trying not to show a bias even though its obvious that I am.  But in all honesty My votes hold true.  I hate IWU and I listed them in Two of my top 3 lists.

Back to football.  They Augie game will be a real great game.  I think that NCC is a very good team, one of the best in the region, but Augie's O will over power the D.  They will run for 400 yards on the ground and eat the clock.  NCC's O can score and real quick, but Augies D can be real stingy.  I like Augie at home by 10.

redmen 04, glad you were able to find the website and get a look at our current helmet scheme.
We broadcast on WRSE 88.7 FM.  Now if you're coming from WI you probably won't be able to get it until you cross into Cook Co. (just b/c the station isn't powerful and Chicago Frequencies will overtake)
If you have a laptop you can get us on www.wrse.com   and will be able to hear the game anywhere.  I hope you're able to get it.
I don't know which school it is in Southern IL but there mascot is "the fisherbunnies"  no kidding, it's an IHSA school, I just can't remember the school.
I hear there's a strong chance of rain on Saturday which might come into play during CCIW action.   Should be another grueling week, and I'm looking forward to it.

Has the Fightin' Irish offended anyone from Ireland, I'm not sure if that was listed anytime before or I just missed the boat....

Anyways, I was thinking of watching a real football game this week in Rock Island instead of high school ball in the MWC is it going to be standing room only or will I be able to find a seat....

Has Illinois won its case with the NCAA to restore the chief, I haven't heard??

augiedogie

Scouteam:

Depending on if you are traveling with anybody, you might be able to get a seat on the Augie side of the field, but your best bet would be on the other side. I imagine that NCC fans will make the travel, but you shouldn't have too hard of a time finding a seat. It will be harder to find parking around campus. I would recommend getting to the game atleast 30-45 minutes early to make sure you can find parking and a seat.

I think that everyone is underestimating NCC's D and for good reason.  They have been giving up significant yards and points.  But last weeks game was the best I have seen them play defensively and it seems they are starting to peak on the defensive side of the ball.  They held Wallick in check and gave up 14 points because of turnovers inside their own 40.  This is still a good defensive football team.

Formercard:

It is easier to shut down a single back ie Wallick than it is to shut down an entire rushing attack. There are multiple backs for Augie that can take over the game rushing at any time. Just ask Wheaton after Matt Roe sprung 340 yards on them last year.  As for turnovers they are goint to be a good influence on the outcome of the game. Augie is +12 and NCC is +10 in turnovers. NCC has picked off 22 passes and recovered 6 fumbles. Augie has thrown 3 picks and fumbled 7 times. Giving either team a short field will not help their cause in this game.  Both teams seem to be equally matched and it will be a Rockin in the Rock this weekend (yeah I know that sounds corny but I don't care)

I'll listen. I live near Algonquin so I should be able to get it on the drive in.
Also the Bunnies are from Fisher H.S.  That is a name that will strike terror in the heart of an opponent.  Reminds me of Monty Python's Holy Grail.
