Maybe the refs helped out a little bit in the game. Who cares. NCC is going to the playoff anyways. The game is over. The refs don't get the benefit of watching game tape over and over to see if they made the right call or not. They need to concentrate on beating NPU which they should anyways. Both teams played a great game just leave it at that. One other thing, those "classy" fans standing by the scoreboard don't post on this board. Most of the posters are alumni with the exception of 1 poster who many thought was an alum. So you don't have to worry about Augie people jumping all over you unless you say unintelligent things.

The film has been reviewed, the results are in, North Central's defense was not offside re: last Sat's final play field goal attempt!  There was no (e.g. zero, zilch, zippo, etc.) movement prior to the snap.  The film is clear, there is no debate.  Candidly expression my opinion.....and regardless of who we 'root' for.......Short of an absolutely blatant offense, Referees should never.....ABSOLUTELY NEVER.....decide the outcome of any sporting event. This years CCIW Championship should have been decided on the field via overtime, not by an overweight, jelly donut eatin ref.  I wish congrats to all CCIW teams for a truly outstanding/entertaining season, it has been a pleasure and honor the past few years to watch the conference metamorphose into a nation leading group.  Safe and successful play wished to all participants for this weekends finale.

Whatever happened to the Golden Rules we learned in pop warner/ little tikes football?  "You win with grace and you lose with grace" something my Father always drilled into me.
Card/Augie fans, the game is over and the real talk should be Augie/Wheaton and NC/NPU because that is this weekend's affairs.  The fact remains, Augie was at least 1 point better than NC when the game was over... CASE CLOSED.  If you're a true sport (NC), you go back the drawing boards, watch the films, and prepare to make some waves (and not make the same mistakes) in the post-season.

nccfan,

The "travesty" has played out.  The game is over and no matter how much anyone complains, it isn't going to change.  The last time I checked, mistakes by officials, bad weather, bad calls, turnovers, obnoxious fans (this isn't a shot at anyone's fans BTW, just a result of all this discussion) can be a part of any football game.  The great teams overcome all of this and find a way to win.  Again, the game is over and it's not going to change.  Move on.

Brass Bell you are right no one really moved early but check out where they line up.  They are offsides by a long shot if you look at the positon of the ball to where they are.  And you can say the refs went aguie's way all day but that is not true.  The personal foul was the correct call.  Whether or not the last offsides should have been called thats not up to us and it is over.  Again i would like to say great game to both teams.  Ample oppurtunities for augie to put the game away and they couldn't and ample oppurtunites for NCC to take the game and they couldn't.  It was one heck of a battle.  Good luck against NP and maybe we will see ya down the road.

Also i may have missed this at some point but what the heck is the Karma points thing?

You can give and take away karma when you reach a certain number of posts.  Find more about it under FAQ on the main page of D3football.com.

Offensive consistency is the name of the game this week in Wheaton.  Augie's defense is very strong this year but I still contend that the Vikings beat you with their offense.  Therefore, Wheaton has to take a page from Augie and control the ball offensively.  Quick strikes on offense are fun to watch, but your defense doesn't get any rest which is a key for success against Augie because of their commitment to their own offensive scheme.  This is going to be a tough one for both teams.

Flat out, the game was stolen.

was the game stolen before or after your qb fumbled a snap on the 1 before half? was it before or after you gave up 335 yds rushing? what about the 3 and out your offense put up w 4 min to go in a tie game? or the 12 play 57 yd drive your defense let happen to get augie to your 10 yd line? the fact is both teams had the ball w a chance to drive for the win and only augie was able to it. don't come on here w sour grapes. if thats the worst you have seen an official perform then you haven't seen very many games.

wheaton has beaten augie on virtually the last play each of the last 3 yrs and i can tell you i never heard the level of bitterness coming from a few ncc fans. i have no idea if the last play was offsides or not but it doesn't matter. don't let them drive the ball down your throat to put you in that spot!! you wanna win a cciw championship you have to overcome a lot of things. it isn't easy. bottom line is: don't put yourself in a position to lose on an officials call one way or another.

Bunch of cry babies and that is why since I can remember why NCC was not very good at football.  Stick to track and field.  Game over...  I can remember whoopin NCC 40+ to nothing year over year...

To Wheaton fans:

How early do you recommend getting to the game this weekend in order to get a half way decent parking spot and not miss the opening kickoff? I was planning on getting there about 45 minutes early, and was wondering if that would be enough time?

Prediction - if and a big if Augie can get some momentum going against Wheaton, look out in the playoffs!  If they struggle close with Wheaton, it's gonna be tough in the playoffs.  I think they will struggle a bit seeing it's at Wheaton and they have nothing to lose.

I am wondering who put Augie 4th in the preseason picks for the CCIW?
