Nice class post on the NCAC board to Bashdad.  I pass along the same to you as well.  Appreciate your contribution and those of your colleagues.

Redmen 96:
Nice design.  However, I hate to see Carthage cave in to the NCAA jerk policy.  I won't go into that because many of us voice our disagreement and displeasure with the NCAA's ridiculous attempt at P.C.  Ridiculous.  Yet if Carthage does, your helmet design looks good.  Good luck.

Hey B4

Good luck to your favorite long snapper and the Raiders for the rest of the season.   There won't be any rum and cokes in the end zone stands for us this year.
We will always be REDMEN

Redmen96,

Folks can get a better look at the new helmet if they right click on the picture, then go to properties, then copy and paste the entire URL to the address bar and then click on "Go." Hope my instructions aren't too confusing, but it might save you from having to send a bunch of e-mails.

Redmen96-

The helmet design looks great. Being a Redmen, I also hate to see our true logo go but what you made looks very nice.

Congrats to Andrew Day and J.R. Bishop of Wheaton in being selected to participate in the Aztec Bowl.

Two members of the Wheaton Thunder football program will participate in the 2005 Aztec Bowl on December 17 in Toluca, Mexico. Placekicker Andrew Day has been selected to play for the American Football Coaches Association's (AFCA) Division III all-star team that will represent the United States against the Mexican National Team in the 2005 Aztec Bowl. Joining Day will be J.R. Bishop, who will serve as a member of the coaching staff for the United States all-star squad. Bishop, Wheaton's head coach from 1982-95, recently retired as the team's offensive coordinator.

This is the fourth consecutive year that a Thunder player has participated in the Aztec Bowl. All-American wide receiver Brad Musso played in last year's Aztec Bowl, All-American offensive lineman James Hoxworth was a participant on the 2003 U.S. team and All-American linebacker Justin Knapp played in the 2002 game, setting the Aztec Bowl record for tackles.

It is the 3rd time Coach J.R. Bishop has been on the Aztec Bowl coaching staff.

Congrats also to Radtke for NCC on his selection to the Aztec Bowl.

All I'm saying is that North Central lost a lot of key players. They've lost 3 of their top 5 receivers. In the spread offense, they use 4 receivers a lot and the 5th receiver gets looks at key points in games. So, they need players who haven't been in game situations to step up. I think I said that NCC will be fine on the offensive side. Kniss has gotten better each year and they could average 40 pts/game in 2006.

The defensive side of the ball is a bigger concern. Imbordino is a fine player. However, after Imbordino, no returning player has more than 1 sack. Derek Coleman is a fine player too but I feel there is a dropoff to the next group of players who need to replace Radtke, Hare, and Tennerelli. Due to injuries, a lot of defensive backs got playing time in 2005. They'll be solid there.

Augie ran over and through the NCC defense. If not for 3 second half fumbles (rain related?), Augie scores 35 points. If NCC wants to step up and win the CCIW and be a force in the Div III Playoffs, they need to upgrade the defense significantly.

As a former redman, I too hate to see the helmet change. I dont particularly like the flames on redman96 design. Carthage will just be setting itself up to be called the flamers and other derogatory names. How about the red helmets with a solid black or white letter C. Or the word Carthage written in script!! Nice and simple. ;D

Interesting Elmhurst 3rd.  I can't say that I really disagree with you that much.

I know that I am a homer, but I think that Carthage's Offense will be much improved and surprise some people.  That O'boyle kid really came around and I was very impressed with how much he improved from the NCC game (his first start I think?) to the Elmhurst game (last game of the year).  I also think that there defense will be tough, but not as dominating as the past two years.  They had a lot of defensive injuries this year and I think that it got some good young players a lot of needed experience.

Also Riedy nice job with the helmet, but in my mind we will always have the feathers.
I hate that they have to change it.  The NCAA are such P*$$ies for that.

1.  NC/Wheaton
2.  Elmhurst
3.  IWU
4.  Augie
5.  Carthage
6.  Millikin
7.  North Park

NC and Wheaton will tie for Conference title with NC getting the automatic bid with a loss to Elmhurst as their only defeat.

If NCC and Wheaton tie for conference, Elmhurst would be 3rd not 2nd in conference, which puts the rest of your picks down a spot what would make Augie 5th in conference.  Granted I don't know if they will finish 1st again in conference, but do you really think they will finish 5th? They havn't finished 5th in conference in many many years. I predict Wheaton, NCC, and Augie will be fighting for the championship, and I think it's way to early to actually predict who will win.

Augie/NCC/Wheaton fight for the top three spots

With Carthage/Millikin/Elmhurst fighting below them

IWU

NP

I think this is as accurate as anyone can get at this point.  Things can shape up a little better in the fall...but until then there is absolutely no way anyone can make an informed decision on how the conference is going to shape up.

Even in the fall no one make an informed decision. That is why it is predicting!  Everyone is way off almost every year it is just a fun topic to debate about
