What the heck I am on post 99 right now.  I might as well throw a Happy Hollidays out there to give me a 100.
We will always be REDMEN

NCC will also have to win on the road in order to be a main force in the CCIW. I know that Carthage won a split of the title in '04 with a conference loss on the road, but both Wheaton and Augie have proved consistently that they can win on the road. NCC's win against Augie in '04 was at home same with their win this year against Wheaton. No disrespect to NCC, but until they can consistently win on the road, they will be on the outside looking in.
I really believe this is true. Im not a big fan of NCC, but they do need to beat the big boys on the road to be taken seriously and I dont see that happening. ::)

Capital was the first home loss for NCC in the last two seasons. It doesn't take much to figure out that NCC needs to win big games on the road if they want to ever become conference champs - and that's the first step to national respect. The way their schedule shakes out, they always get either Wheaton or Augie on the road.

Redmen96, I think many will like the logo.  Nothing can replace the tradition C with the feathers logo, just like nothing can replace Chicago Stadium or the old Comiskey Park (from a true CUBS fan  ;D)
Winning on the road is difficult for everybody and a must if you're going to win the CCIW.  Augie was able to get it done last year whether they were home or away.

Pat,

Is there anywhere that we can view the pickem brackets ranked in order by who is doing best right now?

Pat, is the UW-Whitewater vs. Linfield going to be broadcast via live stream?

I was watching the NIU vs. Akron MAC Championship game yesterday.  What a tough loss for NIU, and what a stud Garrett Wolfe is.
The way the game ended reminded me of EC/NC's game this year where Kniss' 4th quarter drive helped the Cards come back to win.
Wish there was a CCIW Team to watch/listen to this weekend.

Jaybird,

I mean no disrespect by this, but I was not that impressed by the Elmhurst team I saw against Carthage this year. To be honest,  I was a little disappointed in them and expected a much better game because, I had heard how tough they had played NCC, Augie, and others.  Was it not one of their better performances against Carthage?  Any idea about what was missing or different about that game.

HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

Reidy,

I like the logo!  If they do have to change it, I hope that they go with something very much like what you did.  Although, I still have a little hope that they won't change it, Even though that is completely unrealistic.

Hey friend.  I watched that MAC championship game last evening too and agree.  What an exciting game.  Also, how about Akron's head coach?  What a great story his is!  I hope the Stagg Bowl is as exciting this year and not a blow-out.  I would suspect that if Linfield and Mt. Union meet, it would be a barnburner.

I wanted to vomit after the poor defense by NIU on the touchdown pass.  The kid is an absolute stud and you have single coverage on him, with a safety playing the underneath route and not being as deep as the deepest man?  Gross.  A field goal is not going to win or even tie it and Akron had no timeouts left.  Either poor coaching or poor play by the safety, either way, it was terrible for NIU and Wolfe (who by the way reminds me of Steve Holden when he was a freshman and Soph, although probably a little better).
Thats MAC football though and I am rooting for the Warhawks to win the D3 title..(probably because I pickem them in the Pickem)  I hear they match up nicely against Linfield this week..

Redman 04, I agree with you that Elmhurst didn't play at the same intensity they had against NC, late against Augie, or how they did vs. Wheaton in the first half.  I'm still pondering what caused the let down.  I think much of it is a credit to Carthage and Tim Rucks for never "giving up" and wanting the game a little more than Elmhurst.
A great example is Akron last night vs. NIU.  I thought the Huskies were going to blow the Zips out in the Second Half when they were up big.  Well, I won't go into too much detail, but the Zips wanted it a little more and they are going to the Motor City Bowl, instead of NIU.
Formerd3db how are you?  Long time no hear.  I think both Akron's Coach and NIU's Joe Novak are doing incredible jobs for their respective schools.  NIU is my folks Alma Mater and from the time they were there (70's) until I would say about 7 years ago, NIU wasn't even on the map.
I hope the UW Whitewater/Linfield game is available on the Net.  I was impressed with the Warhawks vs. St. John's.  I think if Beaver gets going, UW has a great shot.

FormerCard-  I think we both feel the same way.  Akron's receiver had been the Zips only offense for the 2nd half and you LOOSELY single cover him?  I think even a h.s. quarterback could have hit him in the endzone, he was that wide open.  My Father and I were planning on going to MI to see the Huskies had they made it.
I believe Northern is 7-5?  I know their bowl prospects are slim to none, but I would hope the NCAA would pick them over a 6-6 team.  The one thing NIU has going for them is quality of competition.. Michigan, Northwestern, and (last years big wins)

Did you notice the sequence ... Akron gets a 1st down, 18 seconds on the clock. They move the chains, Akron snaps the ball, spikes it, 17 seconds on the clock. I'm sure you remember that took 5 seconds in the NCC-Capital game. ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, but the gravity is much more intense in Detroit than in Naperville; it's the difference betwen spiking a rock and spiking a balloon!  ;) ;D

I had two free tickets to that game.  At the time I was relieved that my son decided he didn't want to go afterall (we had no strong attachments to either team - I grew up in Peoria so would have cheered for NIU, but he couldn't care less).  In retrospect, we missed a HELLUVA game (but it WAS a school night, blah, blah, blah).
