If MUC wins and UWW wins it will be the 2nd year in a row of an all purple Stagg Bowl
We will always be REDMEN

RedmenFB44 - I am not clueless; saw them both play and was not impressed.  From the looks of the stats they didn't do too hot the rest of the year either.

bobturkviking,
First of all, the offense this year lost many starters. The Carthage offense was rebuilding. Sharp had some experience as a starter but not enough. Sharp was also banged up all season. O'Boyle was only a freshman and looked pretty good. He had to learn a very complicated west coast offense as well as adjust his play from the high school level to college.  Now im not saying that these QB's were top in the conference but also they were not the worst.

Redmen44- I thought the Carthage QB's did all right in the game vs. Elmhurst.  All that matters is the win column and Carthage did all right.  They were in almost every game and that's all you can really ask for from a QB.  Learning a new offense is tough.  Between Krohn, Mack, and now Stanford that's 3 coaches in less than 5 years.. which is why we struggled on offense sometimes.  Growing pains! :-\
Now the Bears well, Orton better turn it up a notch if they want to go deep into the playoffs.

The season for the CCIW is over and so is this post board. Looking forward to next season. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to all!

Congratulations to all of the CCIW players who earned All-Region.

The Cardinals will be returning one 2nd team All-Region, and 2 3rd team All-Region players next year, and maybe even Spencer.  Should be a great Conference battle next season with NCC playing for the top spot.

RedmanFB44:
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you as well.  I would add, however, that you should not abandon the board as you are mistaken that posting on the various boards is over!  The "off-season" provides many interesting and often intense discussions on many DIII topics (and others as well :o!)  So please stay tuned and why don't you join us from time to time? :)

formerd3db- well said, I'm surprised somebody could think that the chats stop just because there are no more CCIW running. I could sit and talk football 24-7, 365 d.o.y   :D
The CCIW chat room is one of the best ways to get the info. firsthand.  For example, I first learned about  last year's IWU tragedy right here.
Has a CCIW player (s) ever won the Gagliardi Trophy?

"Hiker, do you think that is more of a mindset ( having trouble in Alliance)  or just a tribute to how good a team MUC is?"

I can tell you first hand as I have seen Mount twice this year. They are that good. although we gave them all they could handle they seem to be able to put points up when they need to.

Jaybird, I don't know about anyone else from other schools in the conference, but Lon Erickson won the Gagliardi trophy for IWU in 1996.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

Erickson was the only one, but the award has only been around since 1993.

Lon Ericson that's right.. I forgot about him.  I think that Gagliardi Award is a great honor.  I saw Justin Beaver (UWW) last night when they destroyed Wesley 58-6.  Beaver is a candidate for the 2005 award.
Should be a great Stagg Bowl next week.  Offense is going to be readily available.  I am going to pick UW Whitewater, they seem to be on a roll.

Redmen, agree with you.  You can't 'applaud' or 'smite' until 200 posts, so I'll applaud for you.
