The guy that Irish 21 and I have been talking about is Cleo Walker from Fremd.  He is the leading rusher in the area, has been featured in the Daily Herald multiple times, rushed for 1569 yards  ( 6.8 avg.) and had 18 td's.
Old?  I'm a 2002 Elmhurst grad.  ;D

I'm not saying. I know from past experience that no one is committed at the DIII level until the financial aid packages are put together and are acceptable to the parents and athlete.

There is some interest from several Fremd kids in the Carthage program. I hope Tim gets all of them because having watched them up close and personal the past several years, I know they can help the Redmen.

I think having my favorite Redman help out at Fremd last season sparked some interest in Carthage and gave the kids some insight into Coach Rucks and the program from someone very close to it. Also Tim Donatucci was a student assistant at Carthage and he is back at Fremd helping with the football program.

I think Tim has had great success getting kids from Elk Grove and hopefully Fremd can be a new source of talent for Carthage.

Irish21--indeed,  until the funds are squared away most of the talk is just heresay.  Tim Rucks has made Carthage a place where kids want to come to play.  The Fremd Team I saw this year was very strong and could be a great addition to the Carthage fb team.
I spoke with some of the current Elmhurst fb players and they told me the plans are in works to go to Italy in 2007 for a game.  Pretty exciting and a neat opportunity if that does come around.

Irish,

Hopefully with a former Cardinal as the Head Coach at Elk Grove and Brian Lee also coaching there, NCC can change that around and get some of those kids to Naperville!   ;D

I think that the pipeline between Carthage/Elk Grove/Fremd and the schools in Glenbard has greatly helped the Redmen. What I want to know is why aren't more of the Catholic League kids going there?? I'm sure they are being recruited. Also, why aren't the public league kids going there?? Does carthage not hit up the Chicago Public League? If they dont I can understand why. ::)

I know there have been kids from Fenwick and Mt. Carmel at Carthage. You would think after paying those tuitions, Carthage would be a piece of cake!!

Irish,

I'm sure the higher ups at ND couldn't be pleased with the front page of today's Sun-Times.

I think Carthage/NC/EC all compete for the same kids in the same conferences.  I think many times it boils down to which school will give more in their packages to the student and where the prospective student feels he will excell the most.
"Why doesn't Carthage get more Catholic League Kids?"  I also wondered why not, because most of the other CCIW schools have 5-10 kids from Catholic Leagues, but Carthage seems to have less.

Alum...I was out of town all week. I didn't get a Sun-Times yesterday. What was on it?

It was a picture of the priest that has been charged with sexual abuse walking out of jail wearing a Notre Dame hat and Notre Dame sweatshirt.

CardinalAlum  Thanks  that makes my weekend   ;D
More and more recruits are starting to make their decisions on college.  I hope they are wise and take a good look at the 8 CCIW schools.

I was just channel surfing and was watching the 1982 Super Bowl that launched Joe Montana's pro career - only three time Super Bowl MVP. (How's that for a retort to the despicable, mentally sick priest in the ND sweatshirt, Alum?)

Besides Kenny Anderson (Augie) and Jim Jodat (Carthage), have any other CCIW players played in a Super Bowl?
