Mugsy,

You have taken a beating as well I see.  Maybe the basketball guys couldn't handle that I beat most of them in the pick'ems!!   :D :D  That should cost me!

Fortunately my self-worth isn't based on karma, or lack thereof.  I've posted about 3 times in the past month, other than on bball pick-em's.  Like I said just mention karma in your post, and hasta la bye-bye.  9 point drop and counting - with more I'm sure for just mentioning the k-word yet again.  Whatever...

You certainly did the CCIW Post Pattern board proud with how well you did in the CCIW Chat pick-em's.  Nicely done.

Now, now... I believe you have already received your prize for the football pick 'ems.  As stated in a previous Pick-Em's post...

QuoteYou have the respect and admiration of everyone who participated in the Pick-Em's contest and you have the bragging rights for a year.

In case the "respect and admiration" from this "lot" of characters may not be enough... here's some extra karma.  :P

I heard that a decision would come towards the end of this month.

redman04,

We are notorious at Augie for not putting up the schedule for the next season up until very late so there is no info as of yet up there. I am currently a senior and we have played Central all 4 years I have been at school so I figure that they will see us again in 06 but that is of course just a predcition. Normally we play a WIAC team and Central and then mix a third school in there. I will attempt to keep the board posted when the schedule comes out.

rank the cciw head coaches (all great coaches), my opinion based on prestige and where I believe the cciw is headed.
1. Swider
2. Thorne
3. Barnes
4. Rucks
5. Neibhur
6. Journell
7. Esch

JayAlum  I think that is a pretty good reading.  I personally feel that it is difficult to judge/rank coaching mostly because certain coaches are better fits for certain situations.
Ex. IMO I wouldn't consider Barnes a "great" coach because Augie is a perennial strong powerhouse, yet he hasn't consistently beat Wheaton.  I would put Swider at the top also because he consistently puts together a strong team, yet he's willing to gamble in the clutch.  To me, he has an extraordinary high esteem level of players to trust that they will execute in the clutch.
Looking at Elmhurst, I think Tom Journell is steering the program in the right direction.  I loved Coach Krohn and he's the reason I went to Elmhurst.. however he had trouble with the big 4 ( at the time that was Augie, Wheaton, Wesleyan, Millikin).  Journell is increasing the number of players, cleaning up the attitude in the clubhouse, brought in assistant coaches who know their x's and o's, etc.
I know Augie's isn't up yet, but EC's non conf. opponents are   IBC @ Olivet Chicago.
Olivet is apart of a 4 year contract and Chicago renewed their contract.

Jay Alum I think your list is sleeping on a guy that coached one of the most if not the most prolific single season backfield tandems in the history of the game.
