I could be wrong but I believe that building was sold recently because the writing was painted over, it might be a good idea, but it would be based on relations with the school and politics I bet.  I would bet if the $$ was right we could do that, but I have no idea what that would actually take to get it done.

Brick

I think it is acctually being torn down...

Dansand/Vikes35-- I was Augustana yesterday for the bball regional.  I was broadcasting the game for d3hoops.com .  I got a chance to spend some time touring the campus and visiting with Tom Jessee, and some of the Augie Athletic Staff.  That campus is very attractive and the people there are some of the most gracious people you will meet.  haha, maybe that's because I wasn't wearing my Elmhurst attire.  ;D
In all honesty Dave Wrath, the Athletic Staff, and people make you feel welcome, and you feel apart of the family there.
They are tearing down the building?  I know the Iowa Interstate RR has their rail yard adjacent to the building, they wouldn't be able to reroute the tracks, thus you still would have tracks between Ericson Field and the area where the building would be.
Nonetheless, I was impressed with Augie's facilities and their people.

I have no idea.  I went from a plus 11 to a -4 thanks to the basketball room.  Thanks for getting me back on the straight and narrow!  ;D

usee - that is hilarious!   ;D  Generally I've tried to stay out of the way on the hoops site.  I know when I'm out of my element.

I have no idea what has been going on... I was joking about mentioning the "k" word because someone else was wondering "what they said to cause a drop...".  I think there were a number of people visiting regularly here and just taking a swipe at everyone.  Everyone who has been posting has had a significant drop.  I went from 11 down to -3... same for CardinalAlum, Irish21, zorba... etc... just nuts.  I'm giving everyone a boost as well.

CardinalAlum, you're back to even...

usee, you're a bit more clear of the zero line.

The rest of you... well, we've got a bit of work to do... ;)

A little different perspective on the "toughest places to play" question.  When I was at Augie, a lot of the players really didn't like playing at Ericson Field.  Yes we had a great fan base, but, as has been mentioned, the area surrounding the field is certainly not the most scenic place on campus.  Also,  we were typically playing on green painted dirt by mid-season because we didn't have a practice field and had to use Ericson for games and practices.  We always looked forward to playing at the Rock Island Public Schools Stadium for the playoff games.  The toughest on the road would have to be Wheaton and Millikin.

Yes here is a warning to all the great football posters:  You put your Karma level at risk when you post on the d-3 hoops.com board.  Some ***  who probably has NO basketball or valid info to contribute, purposely degrades everybody's Karma.  I went from +2 to 0 to -13 in less than 3 weeks.  Whatever.
I don't let it bother me.  Frequent posters know who the smart posters are and those who contribute interesting and valid info.
