Concordia is the best team of the Illini-Badger Conference.  They are not pushovers.  However...they are not a top tier team in the CCIW.

When I'm trying to figure out how good a team is on a national level, so that I can make non-conference sched preditions, I usually look at how the team has fared in their own league in recent years, and how I think the team in my conference will fair.... and then compare it to how the conference in general does on the national scene in comparison to my own.

In this case, Concordia's conf, the IBC, is 0-6. The CCIW is 9-9. In such a situation, unless NCC lost like, everyone on their team (hence the reason I posted on the pics page that ONU is confusing me), it makes sense to believe that CCIW champ contender NCC is significantly better than IBC contender Concordia (WI) even without having seen them play. I'm really wishy-washy about my picks this week for some reason, so this might change, but right now I have this game as a NCC win with a confidence rating of 7.

Holy kool-aid, Batman!  Did I just read two (2) people post that the NPC(U) - Benedictine game is a game to watch?  Or should be interesting?  Or something like that?  Granted, one was that weird guy with the Bob Marley avatar (and Bob Marley grammar and punctuation) that keeps asking questions about Olivet, Michigan, but how could a CCIW 8th-rank vs. Illini BADger 6th-rank matchup be something to watch?    Maybe alums, parents and girlfriends -- but Texas v. (Thee) OSU is on at 8:00...

Don't get me wrong.  If it is a good game, kudos.  But, although we all know that past performance doesn't guarantee future results, I just can't bring myself to believe that anyone's going the light the field on fire over in Lisle on Friday.

What kind of team is NCC up against this weekend?

NCC's going to see a variation of wing-t option football.  CUW is good at running the ball but they are balanced.

It's tough to be a balanced wing-T option football team.

i have been apart of that system for quite some time.  1-2 formations, several motions,  two runs, and four passing schemes per set.  does that seem tough?

BluPhi35

they throw the ball just as much they run, believe that!

You really can't call them an option football team then, can you? ???

It doesn't matter if it's wing-T or 5 -wide if you don't have a good enough O-line to control the line of scrimmage it is a long day for your punter.

i'm just answering the man's question. 8)  the base of there offense is wing option.  i've gotta give kudos to Comet....  From what i've witnessed in the past year they had a decent line.  they're going to get after NCC.

And if it's not a "long day" for your punter it's going to be an even longer day for the rest of the team.  :)

I,m guessing it's over mid-way through the 3rd Quarter if not by half.

no gloves14  You do know that the Elmhurst/Chicago game is next weekend right?  ;D   You can show up at Langhorst Field however you (most likely) will be seeing European Football.

I think the CUW/NC game is going to be exciting for 1 half.  Second half I see the Cardinals slowly pulling away.  I also think that if North Central thinks they can just "show up" and walk away with a W, they are going to be disappointed.

I am interested to see what the Thunder have on Saturday.

79jaybird- Yes I know the game is next week I still will be making the 1 hour 45 minute drive to Elmhurst on Monday to watch the j.v. game v.s wheaton

Comet 14

jaybird Do you make many j.v games? I still can not find Elmhurst's entire j.v. schedule anywhere. I think they have 5 but I can only find four games by looking on other conference team home pages.
