Mr. Ypsi

USee-  I'm worried, I haven't heard from or seen Irish21  on the boards.  Is MB  ok?

Fremd is having a really good year so I am sure he is pretty busy with all that.
HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

CardinalAlum--Thank you.  ;D
"I dressed up like Thunder once"  April,  as somebody posted earlier,  what does thunder look like and how would you go about dressing like it?
Redmen96-- I agree.  Fremd is Prospect's (my HS) only loss at it occurred on our home field!!  >:(
Both Fremd and Prospect are ranked in the top 10 in 8A and 7A respectively.
CardinalAlum-- The mascot suit was a heavy felt suit, blue with white markings and big yellow slippers.  The helmet (head) portion was insulated and you could really break a sweat at bball games.  Admitting it?  Why not?  I had a good time in college and got the most of my 4 years there.  I must have done a good job because as Victor E. I made the college paper, the local TV Network, and the Internet at the Elmhurst 4th of July Parade.  Either I was doing a good job OR  somebody really wanted to laugh at me.  :P

I suppose we could discuss Hugo Chavez's characterization of George Bush, but first I want to hear from April on how one dresses as 'Thunder'! ;D

79jaybird

"April, how do you dress up as Thunder?"
Maybe we should ask Deborah from "Everybody Loves Raymond".  On one episode she gets a new advertising job and comes up with the characters
Professor Pete Za  (for pizza) and Lynn  Guine  (Linguine)   ;)

'Pete Za' I can understand, but I'm still drawing a blank on Thunder?!! ;D

OK, here's a football topic to chew about.

Who would you nominate as the pre-CCIW post non-conf.

Offensive Player of the Year
Defensive Player of the Year
Special Teams Player of the Year
and Coach of the Year?

Just looking at non-conference games and prior to the CCIW starting.

Mr. Ypsi/April

How about a White Suit (similar to an Easter Bunny where white is down the middle),  then you get a Yellow Lightning Bolt running down the middle, perhaps add some black circles to represent cumulonimbus clouds (Thunderheads) and write in big blue and orange letters  DA BOOMER!

At least he got it right the SECOND time!  :P
Pshh.... clearly the decision was made after some significant brain damage (sorry mugsy, ;) ).... Whereas the Wheaton decision was made with all his mental capacities still in tact. You call that second decision getting it right? Are you saying you have to be brain damaged to understand the logic of going to NCC ??? :P

Just admit my joke was good. Come on, you know you can... :P

LOL...

I love you guys.  :-*

Actually it was a decision based on logic, finances and sound judgement.

1. Wheaton doesn't offer a Masters in Computer Science and their computer science department isn't too sharp (not that different than 95% of small colleges as it is brutally expensive to stay on top of the technology curve).

2. At the time I worked at a small software company that was a few miles from North Central, so from a location standpoint it made sense.

3. My employers paid from my masters degree so probably $40,000 post-grad. degree for the price of books and gas to class.

4. Any CCIW school is going to provide a high quality education (although not as good as Wheaton  ;D).

The main downside was being enrolled in one class per term at night over 7 years (two years of no classes), resulted in virtually no linkage to the school at all.  No group of students that I had in a majority of my classes, no significant friendships with anyone at the school due to being an old guy attending night classes.

No regrets though... a solid education at great school.

Somebody mentioned this a few pages back and I was thinking along the same lines.  As we all know, the CCIW this year is not as strong as it has been recently. If we beat each other up in conference play,  I wonder if we may NOT get that 2nd bid into the NCAA Tournament.  I think this is a luxury we have come to expect (getting that 2nd team in), but this year I wonder.  ???

While it doesn't look positive currently for the CCIW to get 2 teams into the playoffs this year, let's not count it out just yet!  There are 7 more weeks to the season.  If there is one team at 7-0 & 6-1 or 2 at 6-1, and some other teams in the North Region stumble unexpectedly, you never know.  A lot can happen...  One week at a time.

Most of us on this board will say we THINK our team will win for these reasons 1,2,3. Not just saying "I know that Elmhurst is going to win". So I will ask why do you think they will win? Then you attack 79jaybird who is a veteran on this board and he is very faithful to Elmhurst. He knows more than you will ever know about Elmhurst and football in general.

Last time I can remember someone making statements with absolutely no evidence or reason to support their claims, and then reverting to attacks when someone called them on it...

Mugsy,

Haven't been around the team nearly as much. Garduated in May and have been in the Chicagoland area since, so I don't have the info that came to me last year through players, friends, others.  I would have to say that it is early to put McGinnis on the bench. Roe had his struggles early in 2004 and we all saw what happened as that season progressed before the TEAM collapsed the last 2 games. If I had more info I would be glad to share, but as dansand said earlier in the week, not being at a game yet makes it very hard to give reasons as to why Augie is struggling other than having stats say the O-line isn't doing the normal Augustana job.

vikes35,
I understand completely and congrats on your garduation  ;)  I guess we are just missing the insight you provided last year.  Hopefully you'll be able to keep somewhat connected.  In the meantime at least we get some nuggets from DanSand from time to time.  Good to hear different perspectives on CCIW, regardless of location, number of games attended, etc...
