Haha, I'm a Chicago transplant so my two favorite teams are the Cubs and anyone that plays the Cardinals.  Them Brewers are doin me proud right now!  Plus, I'd love to see Houston as the NL Central Champs and Pujols sitting at home crying.  But that's just me and I may get maimed here if i said that in public.

PLEASE delete post #5403.  I think it is causing this board to have a crazy format due to excessively long, continuous stream of periods with no carridge return.

JHESDMHDD, which could be code for something, but I'm not sure what.

I know NC is the heavy favorite (and I pick them also), but does anybody feel that NPU has a good--fair shot in this one?  All the other games seem to me, like they have the makings of a 4th quarter marathon!

I give no np absolutely no hope of winning. i would say they have less than a 5% chance of even being competitive. I hope i have to come back here and eat my words because nothing would please a wheaton fan more than north park ending its cciw drought vs naperville.

After looking at the level of competition they have faced so far, I would definitely have to put the Vikings into a non-quantifyable chance of winning.  Could they?  Any team theoretically can win at any time.  However, unless there is a solar eclipse in the next 14 hours, I would say the planets are not lined up in their favor.

Whew! I'm glad the board is back to normal.  I was worried because I would see the screen names and no writing.  You don't suppose that was the ghost of Thunder grilling me for my proposed Thunder attire do you April?? 
Usee-  I see your point and agree that Elmhurst hasn't earned the hardware (since 1980) and hasn't been to the playoffs.  I am not oblivious to this and I know that EC hasn't consistently beat the Augies/Wheatons/NC's etc... I was implying that EC has made considerable strides to respectability.  Ultimately it is the players making the differences on the field, but I give a lot of credit to Paul Krohn (AD) and Tom Journell (HC).  They have brought a new attitude to Elmhurst and have "cleaned up" the football program and image.  Similar to what John Thorne has done at NC only Thorne was able to achieve this a little quicker with the Cards playoff appearance last year. 
To say Elmhurst is on the cusp and not quite there yet... I agree with.
To say Elmhurst doesn't have a good football team with high quality players... I don't agree with.
I am looking forward to an exciting, emotional rollercoaster type of game tomorrow.
Tailgater,  I will see you tomorrow and look forward to meeting you.  I don't know what time I will be arriving up there.  Brats and apple juice* ok to bring up?

How do you pull hamstrings in beer league softball?
I don't know about that one, but we did have one of our hockey players have to go to the ER last night for stitches.  2:00 into our hockey game our guy gets hit in the neck area with a redirected puck and off he went straight to the ER.
As a hockey goalie, I worry about hammies and groins which is why I do twice as much stretching before/after than anyone else on the team.  Hope your hamstring heals quickly!
PS  some of our team names in our league include the dumb pucks, Da Brews, Cold Beer on Ice, and The Alkies.  hehe

The more I analyze and read up (as I prepare for the broadcast tomorrow) the more I am focusing on 2 areas in the EC/Car matchup  A) Turnovers B) Special Teams
A) Turnovers were what killed Elmhurst last year at home.  Carthage was able to benefit from some costly physical and mental errors last year, which I hope won't happen tomorrow.  Turnovers by Olivet let to 17 points last week which really makes life difficult for the team turning the ball over.
B) Special Teams.  The Bluejays have benefitted from strong kicking by Tyler Lomnicki and Geoff Steele.  IMO the greatest area of improvement has been the punting game.  Steele had a few touchbacks (wind aided), but in a grudge match between arch enemies, field position takes a major role in deciding the outcomes.
