I know NC is the heavy favorite (and I pick them also), but does anybody feel that NPU has a good--fair shot in this one?  All the other games seem to me, like they have the makings of a 4th quarter marathon!

I give no np absolutely no hope of winning. i would say they have less than a 5% chance of even being competitive. I hope i have to come back here and eat my words because nothing would please a wheaton fan more than north park ending its cciw drought vs naperville.

After looking at the level of competition they have faced so far, I would definitely have to put the Vikings into a non-quantifyable chance of winning.  Could they?  Any team theoretically can win at any time.  However, unless there is a solar eclipse in the next 14 hours, I would say the planets are not lined up in their favor.

There is absolutely no chance that NPU can beat NCC this weekend. Not 5%, not 0.5%, not 0.05%. NCC is not the team it was last year, but NPU is not significantly better. NPU played a weak non-conference schedule and finished 1-2. They were soundly defeated by Benedictine in a game where BU had little problem running the ball or stopping the NPU offense.

NCC played a tougher non-conference schedule, although not overly difficult. They too played BU, and the BU defense never stopped the NCC offense. And the NCC defense stuffed the BU offense. One thing that NCC has shown is that they can still score 30 pts/game. Some of you will scoff at comparisons with common opponents, but I see no chance of a close game. The NCC 3rd and 4th team players should pay attention to the scouting report, as they'll see action before the 4th quarter.

After both NPU and NCC playing three games, I've seen little evidence to suggest this should be closer than 40 points. The weather doesn't even help NPU, with 56 degrees ans 6mph SW winds predicted at game time.

If there's a CCIW game that NPU could win this season, it's next week at home against Millikin. Millikin plays Wheaton this week and then makes the long trip to Foster Avenue. Millikin could be beat up or looking ahead past NPU.

Everyone's looking past NPU. I think they have a legitimate shot, if they do lose, they will go down fighting. This will be an interesting game. NCC's offense is killer, but what about their defense? If NPU can get the run going maybe those "planets" just might line up for Park.

Well, waiting for the great matchup between Augie and Il Wes.  A game that Augie should have no problem with!  But you know what?  I bet we do not see other players on offense except for the same ones who could not do the job against the last two opponents.

Heard there is grumbling on the team about the way the coachs are handling things! Seems Coach Johnson is playing favorites and not necessarily putting the best players out on the field!  Maybe he is just to outdated to make any changes in the game plan or too old and tired to want to try!

Anyway, look for some sparks if they lose this one!!

It's spelled "Johnsen." I'm not sure how much say the offensive line coach has in changing the game plan. From the injury report in the paper this morning, they may not have much choice as to who plays because everyone is injured.

This is game 1 of 7 and I don't think any team is "out of it" if they happen to fall this week.  I don't see any team running the table going undefeated in conference.  Augie can't look past IWU, EC/Car can't look past each other, etc.  because if you do look ahead, you're going to get beat.  And beat badly in the process.  Ah 8 hours until we can kick of the CCIW festivities!

As far as I know, he still is. He ran it last year as well, when they set the NCAA record for fewest passes per game, which was especially surprising considering that Lindmark was a receiver at Augie.

What is the correct time of the NC NP game D3 says 1:00pm central and both NC and NP sites say 7:00pm.  I was ready to go to a 1:00 game that probably doesn't exist.  I was going to get all hoped up on pain meds the magic happy pills (from doctor) and watch the grass be watered at NC.

Danssand, thank you. I thought Lindmark still ran the offense.  Yes, Jeff was a receiver and a baseball player at Augie, and here he is running a rushing game.  Funny how things work out sometimes.
RedmenFB44-- Hope you can get the game on your cpu.  Unfortunately, I will be doing the game solo, b/c my color analyst is unavailable to make the trip up north.  (I have done games before by myself so it won't be a "fish out of water").  Right now, would be perfect football conditions weather wise,  I hope it is a pleasant evening in Kenosha.

I'm plan on going to the NCC NP game tomorrow and taping the Wheaton internet broadcast.  Since I am injured and cannot walk very far.  Can any NCC fans tell me what time I should get there and any hints on where to park?   I have been to other NCC games and couldn't even park in the lot.

Get there early (5:00) and D-town N'ville is within walking distance including some good places to get chow (Bar Louie and Jimmy's reccommended) that way you can park close to the stadium.  There is a large parking lot across from Merner Fieldhouse...and if you have a temp handi-capped parking pass (not sure of the extent of you injury there) there are those places too.

If you show up after that you have a good chance of not being able to park close and the tailgaters will allready have the grills going

I never took NPU for granted as a player...true they didnt do well in non-con but on any given Saturday a bad team can beat a good team if the good team takes them for granted.  As a player I remember as a team we always took the game for granted and came out slow...yes I agree NCC should win by 40 however I doubt it will happen because I think they are looking ahead to Wheaton and we always come out flat in the first half against NPU.

That being said I think they will win and win by alot but to say we'll win by 40 wouldn't be accurate.  Yes last year they won 49-7 but the both the D and the O are not last years D and O.

Good luck to the Titans today!  I think if the offense can get some momentum and keep it up, we'll have a good day.  As much as the Augie folks may like to think otherwise and call this an easy win, aside from last year, the recent matchups between Augie and IWU have been very close competitive games, so I wouldn't overlook the Titans today. (Ask Wheaton )
