Since I can't get the Carthage/Augie broadcast I decided to look up the sizes of the Augie offensive line vs. the Carthage defensive line. Thought it was kinda intersting:

Augie offensive line starters:

Tackle - Westemeyer 6'5" 250
Guard - Verhelst 6'0" 275
Center - Tongue 6'4" 245
Guard - Kretzmann 6'2" 268
Tackle - Schoon 6'0" 267

Carthage Defensive line starters:

DE - Woelke 6'2" 220
DT - Januszewski 5'8" 243
DT - Coker 6'0" 248
DE - Johnson 6'0" 244

None of Augie's O-line are seniors. There is a freshman and a couple of sophomores on the line that will only get bigger.  Tongue, was a center for Conant High School and his playing weight back in the day was between 180-190.

14 - 0 Augie

Costly penalty for the Redmen on defense on 3rd down aiding in Augie's TD.   Can anyone fill in on the details of the 1st half?  The last scoring drive was 9 play 80 yards, with a Guzman 18 yr TD run.

37 yard pass for the Redmen driving in Augie terriority down to 42 yard line.

At the half:

Augie - 14
Carthage - 0

Augie running the ball and controling the clock as usual. Carthage had a good drive that got inside the Augie 30 yard line but Augie blocked the field goal attempt. Carthage has made some good stops on the defensive side but seems the the Augie O-line is doing enough to make room for their running backs. Carthage has to keep moving the ball and they need some turnovers.

Not that many care too much compared to the other games, but with 5 minutes left in the first half Wheaton leads North Park 35-7.  A lot of 1st team defense are already out of the game.

Sounds like Wheaton is pretty much just pounding the running game on North Park.

Andrew Hershey (sophomore tailback) just scored his 3 TD of the half. 42-7 Wheaton over North Park at half.  North Parks score came off a kickoff return for a touchdown by Watts.  Hershey started the game for Wheaton instead of Black.  I wasn't aware Black was injured.  :-\
