Wheaton leads North Park 73-20.  4th string QB & RB's in the game.  North Park still has all of their 1st team in.

good grind-it-out win for North Central today. Time for Augie!!
You win! You always do!

RedmenFB44

Sounds like there were some good games in the CCIW this weekend (minus the Wheaton/North Park game  :P)
It's REDMEN not RED MEN

Carthage tried to fake a punt at their own 33 and it doesn't work so Augie has the ball at the Carthage 25.

Not sure why to attempt a fake punt at this point in the game and in their own territority. The attempt wasn't even close. Only down 14-0 at the time??

14 - 0 Augie

Costly penalty for the Redmen on defense on 3rd down aiding in Augie's TD.   Can anyone fill in on the details of the 1st half?  The last scoring drive was 9 play 80 yards, with a Guzman 18 yr TD run.

Augie deserves all the credit. They ground out the yardage and ate up the clock. I think Carthage had only 4 possesions the entire first half. I have to say it was boring watching the wing-t  opperate. It was certainly done with great execution. I think the half took less than 45 minutes to play as the clock never stopped. Carthage D just couldn't make a stop.

Random thoughts from the IWU/EC game.........

1.  Martin Ceisel is the real deal.
2.  IWU does not know how to win a football game.
3.  EC QB does not took pretty, but he makes plays.
4.  The refereeing has gone way downhill since I played.  (That's not blaming the refs for the IWU loss.  We didn't finish, plain and simple.  But man, the stripes were horrible.)
5.  IWU appears to have good size on their O-line, but the blocking schemes really need to be rethought.
6.  Marcus Dunlop needs a FB in front of him if he's going to get yards, IMO.  He doesn't have the tackle breaking ability to keep running those shotgun draws.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

Yeah, Augie deserved the win today.    I'm even going to let the coaching staff take the credit for switching the offensive lines(though I was preaching this two weeks ago).   Even scored on the switch and they were looking fresh.
Augie even had the guts to PASS to my man number 86 for a touchdown.

Now for the questions!
Why when your winning 28-7 late in the fourth you still use your first string quarterback?  And even have him running!  He is only your second biggest threat on offense.  Why chance him getting the snot knocked out of him.   Would have been a prefect time to see how your second stringer works the offense.
The offensive coaching decisions still leave a lot to be desired!!

AugieAlum.....Why can't you just be happy that the Vikings keep winning?  I know the 2 losses were a disapointment at the beginning of the year, but they are undefeated in conference.  Just let the coaching staff do their thing.  They have been successful over the years.  The game at North Central worries me.  Augie is definitely not even close to the team they were last year (at least in the 3 games I've seen them this year).  North Central has a great QB, and I don't think Augie's pass defense is that great.  Hopefully they can get it together for one game and pretty much solidify the conference championship.  Go Augie!

sounds like if they added you to their staff all their problems would be solved (maybe even their undefeated conf record!)
