More info from the above article:

At Samhuinn, having endured a summer of debauchery and merry making, the red men appear with deformations, walking sticks, blindness and clumsiness.

Here's hoping for "blindness and clumsiness" by the Red Men on Saturday. :P

Personally I think the walking sticks might be entertaining, but Studebaker and Co. might be able to tripped with them.

WOW! It looks like I missed a big weekend in CCIW play. I couldn't catch any of the radio broadcasts. Congrats to NCC and to Wheaton. It looks like they put a couple of whoopings on. I have been reading posts from the weekend and I would have to agree with j-bird on the fact that Elmhurst is an improved team in the last 5 years. Not to use it as an excuse but I don't think NCC would be where they are now without Kniss, lets not forget that Elmhurst has had a pretty good year without there starting QB. Now on to the playoff picture. I hope that we can get 2 teams in the playoffs but I think it will be dificult. It does make for interesting talk though.

Unbeknownst to me, they are familiar with the Carthage football team in Scotland:

The red men are often, wrongly, interpreted as being demons or devils. Far from being this they are a personification of the need in all of us to let loose and go wild just once in our lives. Their very reason for existence is simply to 'throw a spanner in the works', to divert the path of fate. But despite their best efforts, these random agents are always thwarted, often with comical results.

Check http://www.beltane.org/bestiary/red.html for further information.

"The Red Men are the Lords and Ladies of Misrule. Beltane is their night of mischief - the World Turn'd Upside Down"

I sure hope that they turn the world upside down with a win over Wheaton!

MB --- I don't know where you find all this stuff, but it really is very funny!  +K 4 U!

CardinalAlum--thank you.  Yes, I guess that is just a positive scheduling quirk to get 3 straight home games.  Also gets the town of Naperville 3 chances to see their homers right off the bat.  Replacing Kniss is going to be the single, most important thing the Cards have to do.  How do you replace a playmaker like that?
On that same note, Elmhurst graduates 18 Seniors and most of these 18 are starters.  Obviously graduation effects every school annually, but some big voids to fill.

Scotland yah??   I know there are some listeners to CCIW Football (in particular Elmhurst)  living in Mexico (Guadalajara), Canada (Winnipeg), and way up in Alaska (Juneau area),  that tune in on the "live stream" to stay informed.
I think that is great that through technology you can stay abreast of the what is happening in D-3.

As of right now, what is the most likely scenario for NCC in the first round of the playoffs?

I would worry about the next two games first!  They do not have an easy finish to the year!

I'm with you redman, we'll get to that if and when we qualify!  There are still lots of things that have to fall into place.

NCC is definitely in the driver's seat, but it will not be easy.

For the Cardinals sake I hope Pat is wrong about starting off at Mt. Union! (Unfortunately he usually isn't!)

Things can still change in the final two weeks. Just the first look considering you weren't in the regional rankings.

Neither was the MIAA winner, which is also a good candidate to head to Alliance.

No, NCC does not have two easy games. But they are winnable games. For this weekend, the pass rushers and secondary should be well rested for Panno and Ceisel.

Hey, someone has to beat Mount Union.  :o :o :o

Again it would be a long shot for NCC or the MIAA winner to do it.   My CCIW bias hopes that the MIAA winner will go to Mt. Union

Very true.  I would think that all CCIW games could be winnable.  With the exception of NPU beating Augie!  Sorry Vikings!   :'(
