I heard Dunlop say he was better than all of wheaton!! in fact his quote was, "I pity the fools, they don't know whats coming this week. there won't be any playoffs for those chumps after I get done with them. You can quote me on that!! We are a better team than them!"

I heard him say that. really!! :o ::)

Usee, I think that NCC's karma ran over their dunlop.  ;)

Nobody else has chimed in on what I said yesterday, but I really am concerned about Augie winning down in Decatur.  Carthage will come ready to play with whomever they line up with.

To me the game in Decatur is the tightest game to call this week.

Will Augie set aside the fact they aren't in-line for post season play and no living up to the preseason expectations and lay it on the line?  Or will they continue to struggle to put it all together?

Millikin is coming off a significant road upset win over Elmhurst.  It has been a season of tough losses to solid teams (Wheaton, ONU, Wabash, etc...).  A few things go differently and they would be sitting 6-3 instead of 3-6.  Will Millikin come out and play the spoiler and finish off the season strong, or will it be yet another tough loss in a tough season?

Should be interesting in the downstate rivalry.

not to mention millikin is the best team in the league vs the run and thats all augie can do. I do think this weeks game down in decatur is a timebomb for Augie (and ncc fans).

I would be very surprised if NCC struggles with Carthage in Naperville or Wheaton with IWU. Those two teams have stepped up their game now that the prize is in sight.

the only caveat is the Dunlop factor in Wheaton. No telling what he might do to the Thunder.  :o

This is priceless. We had a thread a few weeks ago about a time when the shoe was on the other hand.  ;)

Good catch!  I didn't even think of the 1969 NP-NCC score.  Ironic isn't it?   :)

Again, as I said when that topic arose in here a few weeks ago, none of us was around when that game between North Park and North Central took place back in 1968. We don't have a linescore from that long-ago game to peruse, so anything that we say about it regarding whether or not the Vikings ran up the score is sheer speculation. As I said then, it's quite likely that North Park didn't have a lot of depth to use in that game and that whatever backups the Vikings had were probably run ragged just by having to cover kickoffs. Remember, North Park had five more TDs called back in the third quarter alone due to penalties. I'm guessing at what happened just as much as are the two of you, but my guess is that sheer exhaustion from running up and down the field was more of a threat than the Cardinals tacklers to slow down whatever Vikings were in the game at any given time.

Dennis Prikkel is one of three people I know who were there that day, and he's the only one of the three who posts here. Without his reminiscences of the game, you're both just speculating ... as am I.

I can understand you Cardinals supporters being ticked off about that game and therefore holding a grudge against NPU, even if the game took place before you were born or when you were very little. But we don't know all the facts about that game.

For the record, as an NPU supporter who was at this year's Wheaton @ NPU fiasco, I have absolutely no problem with the way that Coach Swider conducted the second half of that game. I did not think that he was running up the score, nor did I see anything untoward about having Wheaton's third-string offense run plays at the end of the game, for the reasons Mugsy elucidated upon earlier.

Only 5 posts back from the OAC board!!! This is exciting or I just have a lot of time on my hands  ;D

Alas, barring the unexpected, they will be back in front by 15-20 pages and 150-200 posts by the end of the Stagg Bowl!  But for now we are only 4 posts back. ;)

we will just have to put some daylight between them and us until that time. Lets get the movie quotes rolling!! :D

Well, I did my bit for the cause by offering up one of my patented multi-paragraph screeds a few minutes ago. That should definitely help the page scroll more quickly. ;)

NPU can take no pleasure from a 31-0 loss, even if it wasn't anywhere nearly as bad on the scoreboard as Zorba said it was going to be. But NPU did manage to get a terrific game out of freshman RB Kelvyn West, who was discussed in here last week. He carried the ball 21 times for 103 yards, recording the first 100-yard game of his career.

Why doesn't Augie have a chance for post season play? That only need a Carthage upset to get there. Not that I think that will happen.  :o ::) I see no reason that Augie won't be focused this week. Augie has only lost one conference game. I expect Augie to win easily. Despite their "down" year, they are still a better football team than Millikin.

"Titan's surface reflectivity looks a lot like that of Jupiter's moon, Ganymede. This is somewhat surprising because Titan is believed to have a lot of organic gook on its surface," said Caitlin A. Griffith of the University of Arizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory.
