Just wanted to wish all the seniors who will be playing their last regular season game tomorrow good luck on all their future endeavors. ::)

ditto!

Zorba you have received my first offering of +karma

Ittersagen is a great player and makes a huge impact on special teams, but how can you not go with Studebaker?  He is heads and shoulders above every other pass rusher in the conference and even when he is not making sacks, he is constantly disrupting the opposing teams' offense.  He also comes up with huge plays in important situations.  He has had multiple key bat downs and sacks on big third and fourth down plays and had three sacks against North Central.  Kniss is clearly the offensive player of the year, although Chaz Black would have certainly been in the conversation had he not been injured.  As far as coach of the year goes, as much as I like Swider, if I'm going to be fair and unbiased it has to go to Thorne if North Central wins tomorrow, if only for the Augustana game alone.  I didn't think North Central had a chance to win that game, let alone get the shutout.  Major props to Thorne and North Central for a job well done.  Go get the win tomorrow and we'll have two very deserving and dangerous CCIW representatives in the playoffs!!!

"I'm also curious, what name did you use to get busted on rule #2?"
The violation was:
Rule#2
...posting nonsense or an identical or similar message many times on one board

Gotcha.  My impression is that the usual rule 2 violation is posting as someone else to agree with yourself.

Does anyone think Carthage has a chance this weekend? And O'Boyle is out for this game right?

Certainly, RedmenFB44, Carthage has a chance and the players and Coaches all believe they can spoil NCC's party. The Red Men will need to execute flawlessly, take advantage of every single opportunity, keep NCC's offense on the side-lines as long as possible with patience by milking the clock and prevent being hurt by the big offensive play (50-60+ scoring strikes like Wheaton had). It's up to the senior offensive line to end their careers with a BANG! They will determine if most of the above can be accomplished. Who knows, maybe the weather will be an equilizer which limits offensive production on either side? Then it comes down to turn-overs and who hurts themselves worst. Either way I've been very proud of this group of guys who play extremely hard every week regardless of their circumstances.

On the pool C board, Llamaguy believes that wheaton will make the playoffs even if they lose to IWU tomorrow. this possibility had never crossed my mind but based on his arguement I think there is a strong chance they may get in either way. the two loss arguement essentially boils down to the fact that wheaton, even w a loss to IWU, would be the strongest of any other 2 loss teams based on the criteria the committee looks over. If you are interested you can read the thread on the pool C board under general football.

Let me assure you that nothing was different in those games.  Ittersagen definitely changes the game simply with his presence on the field, and he can't help that people don't throw his way, but Studebaker always finds a way to make the big play in spite of being held and double-teamed.  He is on a level all his own.  By the way, he can tie the school single-season record with three sacks today.  If they leave him in long enough I think he'll get it done.  It will be interesting to watch.

My predictions:

Wheaton 48, IWU 7
Millikin 21, Augustana 20
North Central 49, Carthage 10
Elmhurst 31, North Park 14

I don't think we have any reason to think that there is any chance that scenario will play out.  There is no way the Thunder will let this one slip away after what happened in Bloomington last year.  They have been on fire the last couple of weeks and I expect more of the same today.  Plus we need to host in the first round because of the Lee Pfund Classic next weekend.  Go Baldwin-Wallace!!!

keep in mind david hoover's sack record was established in a playoff season.

I have a hard time beleiving north park will score 14 pts against elmhurst.

I don't think anyone believes the Thunder will lose (except marcus dunlop). but if the unthinkable happens, there is another way.

If anyone on this board deserves negative karma, it is nccsports891. He/she shows up once a week to post an ad for their radio broadcasts. Now he/she will go back into their cubicle until next week. nccsports891 contributes nothing to this board.

nccsports891 should send Pat a check for the advertisement space don't you think?

getting ready to head to Naperville. Looks like a great day for a football game, although a little gray. The sun is trying to poke through around here and snow seems to have missed us this time. Temp. will be about 40 at game time. I'm certain my Red Men are ready to go this one last time. I assume there will be a large crowd for NCC seeing as they are looking for that elusive CCIW Championship. I hope this is a good close game regardless of the outcome. LET'S GO RED MEN!!!!

Many of you have posted that you believe Swider should be COY because of his success year after year. COY stands for CO THIS year, not past years or cumulative years. My vote goes to Thorne for coach of THIS year. I'm sure that Swider should and will get alot of deserved consideration.
