From North Central it is about 2-2:30  hours away.  I know from Mt. Prospect  I can get to WI Lutheran in about 1:30-2 hours going 65-70mph the way up.  For those driving that haven't been up to WI, watch your speed as you are approaching Milwaukee by General Mitchell Airport.  The speed goes from 70  to 55 to 45  and those WI Troopers LOVE  :-*  Illinois License Plates! ;)

Tailgater, go to the athletics site and click on either "Football" or "Recent News."  Gametime is noon CST.

Thanks Hiker!

I just tried again. clicked on Div III sports, but football is not listed under fall sports? I clicked on news and no reference to any football stories? Noon works and is what I was looking for.

If CUW can't play on their own field the game should be at NCC.
We will always be REDMEN

RedmenFB44

I still don't undersatnd why CWU gets to play at another field. The game should be played at whoevers field and press box can handle a playoff game. Carthage did not have the press box to handle a playoff game in 2004 so we traveled Alma. That should be the case here and NCC should be hosting. NCAA should stay consistant.
It's REDMEN not RED MEN

Jim Matson

I would agree with that argument.  The game ought to be in Naperville.

Why is it that Concordia (Wisc.) gets to play somewhat close to home when they don't have a proper press box to host a playoff game?

This was the same problem that Carthage had in 2004, so we had to travel to Alma, Michigan. Any insights Pat?

Great question. I was wondering the same thing. If circumstances were similar as 2004, Carthage should have played at Wis. Luthern or somewhere close by or CUM should have to travel to NCC?

I don't know the circumstances of Carthage's 2004 bid but CUW's 2006 bid was deemed satisfactory. Do we know that Carthage attempted to bid with an alternate site from the get-go? No idea.

Any reason you want to send people away from our site? I think we care a heck of a lot more about Division III than the NCAA does. Let's keep people in the family. We posted the bracket as well, not surprisingly.

You don't have enough information to know if the NCAA was consistent. Do you know if Carthage filed paperwork to host on another Division III field? Hmm?

I believe the All Conf meetings are tuesday. I analyzed the stats and strengths of each team as well as last years selections. The result is what I think the COACHES will choose on tuesday (not necessarily what I think should happen)

OPOY Kniss
DPOY Studebaker
COY Swider/Thorne

OFFENSE:

QB Kniss NCC

FB Guzman  Augie
RB Wallich  Millikin
RB Black  Wheaton

TE Bergman Carthage

WR Ceisel IWU
WR Studeman NCC
WR Fossum Wheaton

OL Glassman Carth
OL Kaspar NCC
OL Rowson Wheaton
OL Murray IWU
OL Manda Wheaton

DEFENSE:
DB Ittersagen Wheaton
DB  Bellazini  NCC
DB  Evans Augie
DB Battaglia Elm

LB Toal Wheaton
LB Brady Elm
LB Scardullo Elm
LB Youngbauer Augie

DL Studebaker Wheaton
DL Kelly Elmhurst
DL Stephens IWU
DL Williams Millikin

Return Specialist: Watts NPU
P McLean
K Denny Carthage

I have reasons for all of these picks. the ones I am least confident about are: Bergman, TE (there may be a stronger candidate) and Manda OL (I am pretty sure wheaton will have 2 but Manda may not be the 2nd strongest after Rowson)

let the debate begin.

Mr. Ypsi

usee,

Wow!  You've got 4 from IWU, yet only 3 from NCC and 2 from Augie.  How did we go 2-5, while they went 6-1? ;)

(I realize it is a team game - presumably their other 19-20 players were a lot better than our other 18, or at least played better as a TEAM.) :(

Usee,

I hope you're right about Guzman. He really came on in the conference season. However, I don't think Aaron Call played at all this year and he's not on the current roster.

NCC_alum62

wow nice all conference post up there...I don't know enough about all the players performances to guage who should get the nods for all-conference.  I would have liked to see you predict more NCC players.  I think Sulo MIGHT get a nod at second team (but him being a freshman that I dont think got to 1000 yards might not get him enough attention, not sure of his recieving stats)

NCC used alot of rotating players on Defense.  Wes Kostellic has played very good this year at LB and has played some offense as well by lining up in the Maryland I and making some plays. Wenger the freshman LB will be all conference next year if he plays all season (next season) like he played the end of this season.  The D-Line played well as a unit but there wasn't a dominant individual the entire season.  Hannon, Imbordino, Schmidt, Guzaldo each had some great games but were not statistical "stars" all season long.  They played a great team effort on Defense this year hopfully they can get some individual recognition as well.
