Was CUW only playing their JV when they beat benedictine 28-0 or were they really trying.   After all they were at home maybe they played some of their intramural flag football teams.  If not then I like, cardinal alum will say they will soon be axed to leave the top 25.

That was me.

Now, I have no idea what happened in the CUW-BU game. But you have to consider that CUW only needed to get out of that game with a win, they already had a playoff spot. What was probably key was not incurring any significant injuries so they may not have played their starters very long.

The NCAA limits teams to 52 players in the playoffs. Any opinions on which teams, if any, will be affected by this. It could change the lineup on special teams ...

Found some interesting stuff out about Lions from the article linked below the quotes.  Just wanted to share with you all  ;D

Lions are not particularly efficient hunters, successfully capturing prey consisting of medium sized ungulates including zebras, wilderbeasts and antelope in only 20 to 30% of their attempts. They are referred to as "opportunistic" hunters, eating whatever they can catch for themselves or steal from other predators. They are not well adapted for leaping or reaching particularly high speeds, nor are they capable of running for long distances. In general, if the lion is not successful within a few hundred meters, they give up the chase and the prey escapes.

Lions devote an inordinate amount of time sleeping, especially at midday on the plains, once having found the shadow of an acacia tree.

Good stuff as always!  :)

I know CCIW Commissioner Chris Martin handed the CCIW Trophy to NC.  I think it is only right that the CCIW Manufacture exact replicas for Augie and Wheaton.  I know there are trophies for 1978 and 1980 Co-Championship that EC won tying with Millikin and IWU.  I think fair is fair and all 3 teams should get some hardware.

Since all playoff games start at noon, this may not bode well! ;D  (Though good luck finding an acacia tree nearby!)

Gee you guys do your research here, I guess I had a lapse of faith but I'm not immune to "trappings" of this world virtual or real.  as you can read I was tempting the lord ruler of this board to strike me not one his henchmen.  ;D

Possibly, but I think the majority of special teams have starters or important 2nd stringers on them.  Even in blowouts teams rarely make a change on special teams for the reason that you wouldn't want to plug in a guy who hadn't been playing on say, kickoffs, all year in a game where the importance level is hiked up a notch.  I think both Coach Thorne and Coach Swider would have thought about this, particularly coming down the stretch.

Just so you North Central fans don't feel slighted I am working on tracking down some materials on falcons too.  I came across a promising info on a retirement community called Falcon something or other, but then discovered it is for retired Air Force Veterans.  Using that would be in extremely poor taste.
