QuoteKidding aside, if Wheaton can't beat them, I certainly hope the Cards will get their shot, but I give Wheaton at least as good of a chance, if not better, to beat Mt. Union as I would North Central to beat Capital.

Thunderstones, do you really believe this?  I'd put North Central's chances of defeating Capital at no less than 50% - I see nothing from Capital that makes me think they'll roll over the Cards.  Wheaton on the other hand...come on, have you watched the previous Wheaton/Mount Union games?  With Mount's defense this year, I'd put our chances of beating the Raiders at no more than 20% - and that's assuming we defeat Mount St. Joe.

Look Stones, I'm a Wheaton fan and have been for years, but please give me some help in understanding your statement, because I don't see it.

I have some thoughts on this but will wait until next week to get into it.

Wait I checked and there is so now no one can yell at me for not checking out other parts of the site  :D

Wow!!  FishHack  did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, or have a "Bash Pat/D3football  dream?  :o  Geez,  You are one of the few people that I have seen/met/heard that doesn't appreciate this site and takes shots at Pat.  Lay off the 3rd degree!
Now more importantly, we should be happy that the CCIW has 2 teams continuing their season.  It wasn't that long ago, we all were worried that the CCIW was only going to get their AQ in.
Capital gave Mt. Union a good fight this year, and I think there is a good chance that in a rematch that game might be even closer.  I hope, but don't believe that if NC meets Capital, they can beat the Crusaders.  That 2nd round matchup would be in Ohio, which is an added advantage.  But, anything can happen and the more important thing is to have W beat MSJ and NC beat CUW first.

Son of Tailgater-- Not a problem and when you get a chance, I will look forward to reading your email.
Greg--Thanks for your response.  You are like a walking encyclopedia with great knowledge of many sports, not just bball.
I agree with USee and WashdupCard that not having a CCIW VIP present at the Wheaton and Augie games to congratulate the Co-Champs is low, unprofessional, and not what you would expect from a prestigious conference.  All or none, should be the motto when there is a good chance there will be more than 1 champ for that year.

Anything will be better than some of the new names I have seen in the East region!  Very interesting!

Believe me .. that wasn't a shot at all. If I wanted to take a shot, I would take a shot. That was just an observation (and obviously at least one person saw the same thing I did.) Also, I thought I was fairly polite about it. I even deleted some of the more incisive comments that I had.
I do appreciate this site, but I don't blindly give fealty to anyone.
And I'm a reporter. It's difficult to lay off the third degree ;)

Matt, thanks I enjoyed my time playing with you and the other guys

Gleas, thanks for the welcome, i really havent thought about it yet

Thanks CardinalAlum, NCC had what it took and deserved to be the Champion

Ugh, what's going on here?  This is the first week of the playoffs, we got 2 teams in.  Let's hear some football talk.  I'll get it going.........Wheaton's kicker Ellingsen is 5-9 in field goals this year.  Not sure on his range.  How does the average field goal kicking affect Wheaton's game plan.  For example, ball on the 13 yard line, 4th and 2.  Does Wheaton kick or do they go for it?
