And knowing both of them, I'm sure it would be a nice honor, but the more important thing is that their teams each won a share of the CCIW title and they're in the playoffs.

I always thought Carthage was great because all the fans were hammered on the hill during the game.

Now it's our guys in the North endzone!   ;)

You got that right!

I agree and even being an opposing player, I thought that was a good thing for both NCC football and thier fans. However, it may give other teams more motivation to score in that endzone as even I celebrated more than normal and caught myself nearly in the Alum tent. Either way it makes for a good atmostphere. Carthage NEEDS to bring the hill back, I think its a shame that the student fan base has almost dissapeared out there.

Hey, hey, don't be too greedy. ::)

They gave recognition to upperclassmen mostly with just seven freshmen/sophomores if I counted right. Two of those seven were from the North Central offense. ;D

Interesting tidbit.  Wheaton has won or shared 4 of the last 5 CCIW Titles and 5 of the last 7.  Can you smell a mini-Dynasty under HC Swider  brewing?

Until Wheaton proves they can at least hang with Mount for the entire game (not just a quarter or a half) I think mini-dynasty might be the correct term.

There haven't been any teams that can claim dynasty if that's the bar.

Regarding the All Conference team-

Not a lot of surprises.  I think that most of the players were deserving of the honor they received.

There will be arguments about Swider winning coach of the year, but Wheaton  was 9-1 and did win conference.  The arguments will come from those who thought that Thorne's job should be recognized this year.  That is a valid point, but Swider is definitely deserving of the honor as much as JT is.

Studebaker and his teammate Ittersagen will battle it out for next years defensive player of the year, and if Sulo gets a solid QB in, he could be the early frontrunner for the OPOY.

That is all a long ways away.  I think Mount Saint Josephs will be in for a long afternoon in Wheaton, and that the Cardinals will be playing in Columbus next weekend. It would be great if both teams had a shot a Mount union.

I just want to say Good Luck to Wheaton and North Central this weekend. Represent the CCIW well.

Hey, my favorite Center is in the house!! Keep this up and we'll have the entire O-line from Carthage on board! Great Career my friend. My fingers are crossed for you as the All-conference bids are sorted out today. Regardless, you are tops in my book!

Well, im glad that im your favorite center, hopefully the cciw coaches feel the same. I too hope we can get the entire O-line. I think we could get a lot out of having us all here and we hopefully could provide some useful inside information

Congratulations Eric on your 2nd Team All-Conference selection! Well deserved. +karma for your accomplishment! I guess crossing fingers works sometimes.

I think Zach Ullrich (QB Wheaton) will have something to say about that.  8)

Even better than sending 2 teams to Mt Union would be a rematch at E. McCully field in the regional final!! :o :o
